I was actually quite interested in hearing them bring up the Vance proposition of having more votes if you have children. On the Beach by Nevil Shute, set in 1960s Australia, has a voting system whereby everyone starts with 1 vote and then votes are added on depending on schooling, job, military service etc. I can't be completely accurate as to what you get extra votes for because I haven't read it for 50 years. I don't remember whether this system emerged in the film but maybe someone Vance knows read the book.

Let's give votes to all children in this country, but let's give control over those votes to the parents of those children. What the fuck did I just watch.Whenever I see some bits from obviously right-wing partisan media outlets, I can spot the bullshit and exaggerations they make, but these left wing partisans take literal simple and logical/measured sentences *caught on video* and make it out like Orange man is some kind of a racist... for remembering Kamala as.. Indian (and acknowledging that he respects either origin regardless, while questioning how authentic Kamala herself is about it). I'm not sure how low you have to stoop or how self-deluded/self-congratulating/narcissistic you have to be to recognize Orange to be the racist in that exchange. Not to mention how straw-manny this nonsense is, to focus on an off-hand remark and making entire news stories about something that doesn't matter to begin with (doesn't matter unless you have racial prejudice i.e. you're... ah, racist. Awkward).
If you zoom out, take an unbiased look at how emotional and borderline unhinged the commentators (and even the interviewer to a somewhat lesser extent) are and then look at the original comments. I think a thinking person would be able to see the baffling contrast.
