Prove that this civility isn't a ruse.
I have nothing to prove to anyone who is demanding and rude. However, I see you as innocently misguided...and if you remain patient, your preconception will be addressed in due course.
For now, I reserve my time for Qooper, because he has been kind...Anyone else coming at me with a poisonous heart will simply be ignored.

So you are saying you have no proof for your claims?

We're not, that's the problem, that you can't understand or accept YOU are the one you're talking about.
What you know about russian history? Because I'm interested in the topic way before Putin came on the scene AND before the FIRST attempt to take Crimea in
1993 (and why the Budapest Memorandum came to be, after the
USA request to Ukraine to give all the nuclear warheads to Russia in exchange of protection guarantees -> (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budapest_Memorandum) ).

In the interview you can listen by yourselves the hate of Putin toward Lenin and his project to pacify ukrainian nationalist communists back then - creating Ukraine as a separate state in URSS - being the same hate of "liberal" (the real meaning of the word, not the GOP alternate world one) and right (intellectual) elites.
Why? Because Lenin did never think in "lebensraum" terms like Putin (and his elites) does (thinking it's absolutely legit.....not only legit, NECESSARY in a mystic vision)
Who's the other famous "leaders" thinking of a necessity of lebensraum (I repeat, not as a simple dream but as an "intuitition" of a divine will to follow and inevitably realize being divine) and claming it with a "spiritual" war againt a satanic evil (=everything can stand between the intuition and the realization)? The ones who cames as romans to "bring civilisation" to "degenerate barbarians" (or perfides jews).....that's how russian elites see themselves nowdays.
.....they really seem incapable to realize (or accept, or admit) that's the *core* belief of Fascism as a political theory :p

I only wonder what change can you expect when all the most important competition is poisoned, killed, deported or jailed. I remember people protesting all over Russia and they were jailed, ignored or silenced some how (maybe even threatened).
EDIT
About what lowenz said, I imagine Russia is getting pissed off of being surrounded literally by US air bases in front of their own borders, I can guess they might get mad about it.

If you want to know about how the Tucker-Putin interview went down, as usual Vlad breaks it down best, I think.
(This is different than the video posted above.)

Duat, please.
Russia, even when it was the USSR, has said that it is surrounded by enemies. At some point a reasonable entity would begin to suspect that the enemies are made and not materialized out of nothing.
There are no US air bases in Ukraine. Russia invaded it. Putin has made no secret of being expansionist and it has used lies and the flimsiest excuses to invade. A reasonable person might expect by how Putin has acted toward Georgia and others bordering it that Putin is not just paranoid (no attack has been made on it) but following a plan to take land. That is, after all, what expansionist means.
Pissed off? No. Anyone paying attention knows that Putin is a cool and calculating sort. He does not expect his excuses for taking land to be swallowed by the intelligent but he knows there are many who are not intelligent.
DuatDweller on 10/2/2024 at 02:07
So you say Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania don't have US air bases (or NATO bases for what matters)?
When Ukraine wanted to enter Europe, Russia blew a gasket man.
Maybe he ain't pissed off, maybe he's a cool calculator but the fact that they took action have to mean Ukraine did something they didn't like at all.
Tocky on 10/2/2024 at 02:16
They have been planning this for over a decade. There was even an article in National Geographic around 15 years ago about it.
I suppose you could say that Ukraine did not do as Putin wanted in accepting his puppet government but how paranoid do you have to be to break the agreement not to invade when they gave up their nuclear weapons?
