Thanks for the break-down, Dema. It's not likely that Trump will fall on his sword for the good of the nation.
It will only take one swing state to keep him off the ballot to close the only hail-mary hope he has of escaping some form of accountability. It's the same calculation which the MAGAts in Congress and the Senate are making, lie big and hope they can hang on long enough to destroy democracy.

If The Regime only allows opposition candidates on the ballot that have no chance of defeating it, do we really have democracy anyway?

If the previous regime had overthrown the election of the next president and installed Trump as leader, would you have called that democracy?
Besides, Biden already defeated Trump once. If the best candidate the GOP can field is the guy that already lost to the incumbent (and is still crying about is some 3-odd years later), what hope do they have anyway?

Trump lost, but that was before 4 years of:
A terrible economy.
Record inflation causing near-doubled prices for everything.
10 million migrants flooding across the border, resulting in permanent tent cities full of migrants in places like NYC and Chicago.
Bumbling failure in Afghanistan.
Hundreds of billion$ sent to Ukraine as a money-laundering scam, for no result.
Biden stumbling and falling constantly, losing his train of thought and having to be escorted off stage, or just babbling nonsense every time he's on camera.
New wars breaking out in the middle east, plus the realization that our immigration policies (or lack thereof) have brought in millions of people who are pro-Hamas.
The revelations that the Hunter Biden laptop and other indications that Hunter was involved in money laundering for Joe Biden were all true.
And lastly, the promise from Biden to the American people was: "Elect me, and everything goes back to normal." That didn't happen. It's reasonable to think that Trump might get more votes this time. Trump is the only Republican polling well. If he's forced off the ballot, well...the other candidates are pro-endless war, pro-endless immigration, pro-sending infinite tax dollars to Ukraine and Israel forever. They might pass a tax cut for billionaires but other than that they are indistinguishable from Democrats. No one is going to turn out for them.
If the Republicans are only allowed to run candidates that are approved by the Democrats, then Americans really have zero choices.

Maybe he shouldn't have pressured election officials to find him more votes, then, eh?

BULLSHIT - Biden's GDP is far better that Rump's and is nearly twice that of Rump in some quarters.Record inflation causing near-doubled prices for everything.
Nearly DOUBLE? BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHhhhhhhhhhh.... gasp...10 million migrants flooding across the border, resulting in permanent tent cities full of migrants in places like NYC and Chicago.
Also Bullshit. See above laughter...Bumbling failure in Afghanistan.
Caused by Rump's precipitous, unplanned withdrawal orders, forcing the Afghan Government to release thousands of Taliban combatants while getting NOTHING IN RETURN!Hundreds of billion$ sent to Ukraine as a money-laundering scam, for no result.
BULLSHIT.Biden stumbling and falling constantly, losing his train of thought and having to be escorted off stage, or just babbling nonsense every time he's on camera.
I understand why you might mistake someone speaking in complete sentences, with dementia, having consumed nothing more the Orange KoolAid for half a decade.New wars breaking out in the middle east, plus the realization that our immigration policies (or lack thereof) have brought in millions of people who are pro-Hamas.
Nothing to do with having Trump's simp son-in-law as his Middle East envoy and slush-fund manager. Right. The revelations that the Hunter Biden laptop and other indications that Hunter was involved in money laundering for Joe Biden were all true.
More BULLSHIT. Giuliani totally screwed the chain of custody of what was allegedly Hunter's hard drive. Buahahahahahahaaaaa. Simps. Rump's whole term was just one long grift for him and his kids. And lastly, the promise from Biden to the American people was: "Elect me, and everything goes back to normal." That didn't happen. It's reasonable to think that Trump might get more votes this time. Trump is the only Republican polling well. BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH..... If the Republicans are only allowed to run candidates that are approved by the Democrats, then Americans really have zero choices. Dog? The 14th amendment has nothing to do with partisan politics. Trump led an insurrection. That's why he can't run. If you don't like the constitution, change it.
You really believe all that crap about your Orange god, don't you.

Maybe the republicans shouldn't run candidates that are proven criminals? Just a thought...

It would not be a real democracy, otherwise how can you represent (wannabe) criminals without man like Trump? :p

Firstly, what is ‘The Regime’?
Of course we don’t have real democracy, it’s a flawed model at best. But you’re complaining about ‘not having democracy’ whilst rooting for the guy who tried to steal an election and also helped to stack the Supreme Court to be largely unrepresentative of mainstream America. The cognitive dissonance is just too much.
