So no names of good Democrats then.
Obama was a damn good one. Likely you disagree. Elizabeth Warren is another. Pete Buttigieg another. Biden is fairly decent but getting old. I could go on and on but I'm quite sure you disagree with everyone I mention so what is the point? I could mention some good Republicans you would also disagree with, those who had the spine to stand up to Trump when he attempted insurrection, but why? You make it obvious you are just trolling. I guess your dishonest questions are just some power trip for your ego much like your hero.

I prefer the back and forth changes between parties every so often as it tends to keep things from being too one sided forever. The back and forth between party in control helps keep things from moving too fast ... Slow and careful thought and consideration is how we keep the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in tact.
If both parties are rational and committed to the public interest, than sure. But the Republican party has to face a reckoning before I'll ever even think about supporting another Republican for national office. And I know they won't because I think demagogue is right. Once Trump is done, the party is going to pretend like they never did anything wrong.

Define "good".
In this context, I define it as significantly BETTER that 95% of Republicans.

Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter.
Jimmy was a weak president. I suppose that is a good thing in long run though. I've never been of the office of the president having a lot of power.

"The call is coming from inside the house".
Wasn't a part of that, that Ted Kennedy wanted the top job, so his own party blocked a lot of his proposals in congress?
For Carter's foreign policy stuff, a lot of that was actually the inception of stuff Reagan continued with that ended up being credited as taking down the Soviets.
Also the administration was dogged by the Iran hostages situation, which was *very suspiciously* resolved on Jan 20, 1981, literally the day Reagan took office. While there's no evidence that Republicans were involved in that or had promised the Iranians any sort of 'deal', there are CIA memos indicating that the Iranians were in fact motivated to sabotage the 1980 US elections.
Plus
Quote:
Reagan experienced a surge in polling following the debate. This was in part influenced by Reagan deploying the phrase "There you go again", which became the defining phrase of the election. It was later discovered that in the final days of the campaign, Reagan's team acquired classified documents used by Carter in preparation for the debate.
Basically the Reagan campaign hacked the debates through espionage. There are definitely some parallels between the 1980 election and 2016.

There's no right answer, so stop even meriting him one. The strategy is you draw a line and then you keep double downing on it. If democrats are communists or nazis or whatever (they're evidently both in the MAGA mind), then whomever you choose, you're only taking the side of Stalin or Hitler, and we've moved the purge line that much further up until we're left with only the "true patriots". Don't even play into the game.
The point of my previous post was to emphasize that words have no meaning once you start pulling that shit, so it doesn't merit a serious reply, only a reply in kind.

You are, of course, right, but just because he is dishonest in his questions doesn't mean we can't be honest in our answers. I would argue that our honest answers help delineate the difference between us. He thinks he is "owning" us by getting us to respond without considering how it makes him look. The "lookit me, tee hee, I make Democrats dance" thing is fully understood by those who discuss in good faith but still exposes his childishness. In so doing it also exposes the lack of depth of the Republican and Trumpian proponents.
It reminds me of the court scene in Idiocracy, in fact.

In fairness, I took the challenge as naming ethically and morally preferable Dems, not to examine administrations and their effectiveness. The cartoonish insistence that both parties are equally reprehensible, is especially hollow when it comes from someone who pretends neutrality but is clearly cheering for the much, much worse side.
It's like pretending to criticize Hitler by equitably dissing everybody else who wears a mustache.

I keep typing a response and deleting it because I'm not sure what you are saying.
