It's amazing that they deny they are a cult and yet have brought Trump into the church as a religious icon. Trump is preached from the pulpit but yet they are not a cult? Check out these links for the "Patriot Church".

Fanaticism is rife with both Trumpers and evangelicals and when that is put together with prepper gun nuts you have insanity capable of anything. These are people who are half a step from KKK style racism and can be led by their philosophy and creed. They would never admit what they fear or couch it in terms of race but with little effort you can get them to show it with the things they say. THEY believe there is a civil war/race war/end of days coming and they are ready and hoping for it. They WANT it. I mean starry eyed crazy for armageddon. God is on their side and anything they do, no matter how heinous, is for his glory and thus okay. What's a little cheating on elections and denial of reality for God? These are people who have been denying reality all their lives.
We are so far from where I hoped we would be as a species by this time.

I consider all of our elected leaders in America to be illegitimate until we have a fully auditable voting system.
I consider all of our elected leaders in America to be illegitimate because democracy is bullshit.

Representative Democracy and Consensus-based Dictatorship can perfectly overlap.
So if you ask for Dictatorship (and the only one possible today is a '900-like dictatorship) you ask for the same thing.

Spare me your deflection. I'm not talking about China, which isn't a democracy, and I'm not talking about a specific figure. I'm talking about a concept. A concept that you and the other reactionary types around here have very weak, distorted understandings of.
Can you engage with this notion that democracy is not only more than you think it is, but also less? Or are you a coward?

"deflection" -> right wing buzzword detected
Please, stop following right gurus like Peterson & co. It's pure "anti-left sentiment" tele-guidance bullshit dedicated to market-system failed individuals to involve them as political soldiers (see Trump supporters but you can get something worst and more extreme), how can't you understand?

You might be barking up the wrong tree there lowenz if that was aimed at June.

In the cosmic scheme of things, I think some of the fundamental challenges are that, just statistically speaking, the cognitive systems mediating working memory have so many inputs the performance of which can be blunted in so many ways, like modulation of norepinephrinergic uptake to take one example out of 100s, leading to a rather fat normal curve. In other words, at least half the population is inevitably going to be abject fucking morons just on pure genetic grounds.
And then there's a whole set of troublesome endocrine, affective, or frontal lobe mechanisms that cause enough emotional havoc to get a person checking the DSM-5 boxes for a named disorder for some ridiculous percent of the population like 1 in 3. So now you have a certain percent of people, if they weren't already fucking morons, that are also intentionally maladaptive at best and uncontrollably malevolent at worst.
I mean whatever government system you pick, that's going to be one of if not the fundamental problem. I'm sympathetic to the challenge of the task.
