There were some other crazy moments in history. Maybe not like this though, where a person didn't concede even after they exhausted all their legal channels.
Most crazy moments in history are triggered by narcissists. Hopefully we escaped having a sociopath gain unfettered control of a nuclear arsenal.

Trump already gave some quote that he's thinking about leaving the US if he loses ...
They need to confiscate his passport. And check the moving boxes for national treasures.
The pardon can only be for federal crimes. There's plenty of state crimes he committed publicly. And a pardon is also an admission of guilt. Take heart. Justice is possible again.

On Saturday morning, shortly before the AP and other news outlets called the election for Joe Biden, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to announce that his lawyers would be holding a “big press conference” in Philadelphia. But there seems to have been some major confusion about where it would be held. First Trump tweeted it would take place at the “Four Seasons, Philadelphia.” Trump later corrected himself and said that the news conference was going to be held at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping. And the Four Seasons Hotel sent out its own tweet, making sure everyone knew that the news conference would not be held there but rather at the landscaping business that has “no relation with the hotel.”
When journalists arrived at the site of the news conference, they were flabbergasted by the scene and many quickly speculated that someone in the Trump campaign made a serious mistake. After all, the parking lot of a landscaping business in the outskirts of the city in an industrial part of town was a drab backdrop for a news conference by a president who wanted to convince Americans he still had a chance of winning. And making matters even stranger, the landscaping business was between an adult bookstore and a cremation center. The location led to lots of mockery online, and many people were very happy with the scene that was ripe for mockery, and some saw as a poignant metaphor of the failure of the Trump campaign.
[...]
There are so many jokes among the mocking spree, but I think my favourite was "Lawn and order!"
What a fitting end to this presidency... is what I'd like to say, but we all know the best is yet to come.

A lot of them slip across the border to talk shit in our media channels. Have a browse through the comments, if you dare.

Nobody has posted Biden's acceptance speech yet? It's fucking great to hear a president actually sound presidential again. Listen to it. No me me me. No calling people names. No divide and slander. It's beautiful. It makes me proud once again of the character of the president.

Yes, Biden's speech was maybe not the most eloquent of all time, but it was really good, it said the things that needed to be said, he can still speak with real conviction, and it was the right one for this moment in starting the healing. I felt pride for my country and its values for the first time in a long time. I posted an image with one of my favorite lines from it two posts ago. Share the faith, that democracy and freedom and care for one another will prevail in the end.
Meanwhile Trump's legal team gave a (

And his concession speech was about what you'd expect. :laff:

Congrats America, I keep my fingers crossed that now you're on the path of replacing hate speech, conspiracy theories, and nihilistic power rhetoric with empathy, inclusivity, and, you know, giving people hope that we can all get along without the need to obliterate those who think differently. :thumb:
