I mean it's healthier than a lot of alternatives in this case, so I'm not complaining.
I think that more than anything, I'm tired of the vitriol. I know there are decent republicans out there, maybe they'll be able to come forward in the future.

Press-conference by Team Trump coming up. 17:30 MET, 11:30 EST. One of two things is gonna happen:
1) Trump concedes
2) A civil war starts
Supposedly Trump is not gonna talk. Just his lawyers. Does that mean he is gonna concede? Or are the lawyers gonna bullshit about legal action?

Maybe a plea bargain, conceding defeat in return for a blanket pardon of all past, present and future criminal charges.

Nobody has called the election for Biden yet. Biden himself of course wants the media to call it first. It's obvious now that he's gonna win. But non of the news-stations has called it yet. Supposedly, they all wait, so that Fox News must be the first to call Biden the next president of the US.
:D

Yep, this is what some of the Europops political commentators think is going to happen.

No way.
I don't think Biden would ever agree to such a thing. And even if he did, they would never publicly announce it now. That would create 2.5. months of Democrats wailing and piling pressure on Biden to renege before he could even act on it.
I'm sure this is going to be about their allegations of fraud and their legal strategy.

Does it matter if Trump concedes or not? If he lost the election, he ceases being president come January. Withholding his concession doesn't change anything, it would just be pettiness.
heywood on 7/11/2020 at 16:21
Exactly.
At some point, after any recounts and legal challenges are over, he'll have to admit he's no longer going to be President. But that doesn't mean he will concede that he lost the election. I'll bet he goes out still believing that the process was rigged against him. It's going to be hard for him to cope with the thought of being the loser.
