In Georgia, Biden is only 1900 votes behind. I'm going to sleep now. Tomorrow, when I wake up, Biden will have been declared the next potus.

There are legal challenges on the table already and there will be more.
They are, by-and-large, not going well for Trump's legal team. Two have already been dismissed and a third settled(!?).

There may be some judge or court exposed as partisan during the process, but in the end I think it will be a fair counting.
So far they really seem like they're ordered by Trump just to have a lawsuit going, rather than from any legal justification strong enough to, well, not get summarily dismissed by even some notoriously right-wing judges.

Democrats were butthurt for 8 years after the 2000 election even though the recounts plus an in-depth post-election investigation confirmed Bush won.
I'm
still angry about that miscarriage, and I disagree about the results of the post election investigations: "...a state-wide recount would have revealed a Gore victory." (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_v._Gore) source If they'd done it
right and counted every vote, Gore would've won.

I have never seen this before, but what a true gentleman he was, and what a difference a decade makes. If only the sentiments of that speech had been carried through.

As much as it would be satisfying to see mass criminal prosecutions, the threat of investigation and litigation will just make people entrench further. It might be best all around to have a Truth And Reconciliation approach, rather than a punitive one. It helped South Africa a lot. It wasn't perfect but I am sure it prevented a lot or retaliatory back and forth.
Our last attempt at truth and reconciliation is why we have Confederacy apologists and the KKK. I don't think Trump's cult is going away if he's just allowed to fade into obscurity.

I was expecting to be entertained at least, but that was a shit speech all around. Trump just repeated the same lies that have already been proven wrong before. I was naively hoping that he'd come to his senses at last, but he just threw even more fuel into the fire. They'll really have to drag him out of the White House kicking and screaming I guess.

The irony is that I and others have contributed constructive value to this discussion, and you've contributed nothing.
"Everyone I don't like is a misogynist or a Nazi" + personal attacks =/= value to the discussion
What have you contributed to this discussion besides far-right talking points, propaganda and fearmongering?
Also, "everyone I don't like is a misogynist or a Nazi" is a pretty funny mischaracterization of my viewpoint. Some of the people I don't like are just queerphobes.

That was appeasement. Truth and Reconciliation is very different. It involves people making a public account of their wrong doing. Trump would never do that so he will get prosecuted. Smaller fish can get a reprieve but only if they come clean.
