My sister believes Trump when he says this. She was such a sweet, kind person before she moved to the US nearly 50 years ago, got religion and started supporting Trump. She is quite uneducated though.

Can you go directly to the Supreme Court though? Don’t you have to go through local and federal courts first with the Supreme Court at the end of that road?

The federal government doesn't have the authority to demand a blanket full stop for the count. Trump would have to push a case at each contested state, citing a good legal reason why the count should be stopped on election day, which would be pushed up to SCOTUS when either the Trump or Biden campaign appeals whatever decision the individual state supreme courts come to.
