Imho there's not much difference.
They voted Trump to be the Republican candidate.
I was talking about people who didn't vote at all.

GA has about 450,000 absentee votes left to count and they're all in areas that are heavily Dem to begin with. He needs about 2/3 of those to win the state, and I bet he'll win closer to 4/5. That's why NYTimes currently has him slightly favored there.
Most of the late votes are going to go for Biden because more Democrats voted via mail this year while most Republicans voted in person. I would not be surprised if he swept the 6 remaining competitive states. It's going to seriously blow people's minds when PA starts reporting absentee ballots.
Currently I see 5,446,466 votes counted in PA, and it's estimated that's 77.9% of the total. That means 1.2 million to go. Trump currently leads by 600k. So for Biden to win, he would need 3/4 of the remaining votes. That seems unlikely.

Gawd that would be awesome.
If he ends up just with the states that give him 270 that's when a ruckus will begin. But if he could get to 290...

I don't disagree with you raph, but people vote for lots of reasons.
E.g. Business owners may realise that under a different government the tax changes will cripple them or even make them go under. And if they have kids to support...
Just shows, to quote John Mulaney, that they have the moral backbone of a chocolate éclair. From what I've seen online during the campaign (so ok, that's anecdotal), most of the people claiming to vote Trump for tax reasons don't even understand marginal tax rates in the first place.

Except that he's been winning 78% of the absentee ballots statewide, and Allegheny/Philly which lean waaaaay to the left still have to count theirs. It wouldn't be a surprise if he took 4/5 of the remaining votes. And 78% itself isn't unreasonable considering that about 80% of Democrats voted by mail in the primary (while most Republicans voted in person then and yesterday).

It's baffling to me that someone could be a business owner and not understand at least the basics of taxation, but that's America for you I guess

Agreed. And I did think about that. Although you could also say: "what if you had had the opportunity in 1930 to vote against Hitler? what if you didn't vote?" :)
I've mentioned this in the past. I've spent about 18 months of my life in the US. Between 1994 and 2001. I've worked with a lot of Americans. They were mostly extremely friendly and polite people. I still speak to some of them these days. But they were all high-income, high-education, high-tech workers. Most of them living in the Bay Area. And the others I worked with were in RTP (North-Carolina). I certainly understand that the Trump voters are not 50% of Americans. But still, I kinda lost my faith in the US.

I suspect raph is talking about the 400K+ hoo haa that 50 Cent was involved in, mopgoblin.
Remember, it's the twits that don't get it that will moan about it on social media. Those that it doesn't faze will be silent.
I also think it's a little unfair, raph, to say these people have no morals. The US isn't Europe. If you have no job you may have no healthcare. If you're supporting a family with a sick child wtf would you ever vote in a way that is going to mean your child's long term/ongoing treatment will be affected, or that your house is going to be at risk.
This is a problem with the COUNTRY, with the entire cutthroat culture there. Don't blame the player, hate the game.

I was looking here:
(
https://www.votespa.com/About-Elections/Pages/Counting-Dashboard.aspx)
By that count, only 65% of mail in ballots are Democratic.

What's baffling to me is that the Democrats, when accused of being communists, don't point to 8 years of Obama and 8 years of Bill Clinton. Those years are proof that the US will be doing very well under Democrat government. Nobody can deny that. But it seemed Biden hardly mentioned Obama. And certainly never Bill Clinton. Weird.
