Big update in Wisconsin. Biden has surged ahead 49.3% to 49.0%, and there's still 11% of the vote to be counted, per BBC. IIRC the last time I checked he was down by about 4% with 21% left to count, so he presumably took 70% of the mail ins so far which is roughly in line with how he's doing in Michigan and PA.

The fact that it's close is kind of nuts. How are so many people still voting Dickhead after the last 4 years?
In cases like this, I just think, and give, what I've found to be an adequate response to much of this stuff over the last 4 years; America, lol.

They understand the alternative.
Like you, I don't think they understand much at all.

BBC says Trump is on 50.9% and Biden on 47.3% with 84% of expected votes.
If either Wisconsin or Michigan fall to Trump it's lolz time for 4 more years.

He's up 49.3 to 49.0 with 89% reporting and the rest almost certainly going to go to Biden, possibly by 2/3 to 7/10.

I've just seen.
But now Trump is leading in Michigan.
Wtf is going on with the BBC and Arizona? I thought it was a confirmed flip.

Latest on Michigan, from the 538 liveblog:
"Trump's lead is now down to 70,000 votes statewide.
And Wayne County has only reported 53%. Biden is about to stack up a couple hundred thousand votes there alone."
I'm telling you guys, Biden is going to win AZ, NV, WI, MI, PA, and GA and only GA is going to have a margin under 100,000 votes. The only reason this election seems close is because Trump overperformed in Florida (Cuban vote) and there are so many absentee ballots waiting to be counted.

What is this, opposite night? Trump is trending to lose in those states and is calling for the counting of the votes to stop to prevent himself from losing (by quitting while he's ahead). All votes should be counted.
The only proper response to this is, in the words of former Republican strategist and Never Trumper Rick Wilson, "Fuck you and keep counting."

This is pretty much exactly the track that Trump is counting on here. This time, though, it's not one state but at least four. There shouldn't be the same controversy with the method of counting, not with all four. Biden is projected to win in some of them (which wasn't as clear in 2000). And Biden should be taking a different, much less conciliatory line than Gore in 2000.
Things are setting up for a Constitutional Crisis. The problem is that either side will feel robbed regardless of any legal decision regarding the legitimacy of ballots counted after election day.
This will escalate civil unrest, and it is now possible that a significant part of the population will refuse to recognize the results.
