And he's a criminal.
C'est pire qu'un crime, c'est une faute.

If he were to take an intelligence test, it would probably come back negative.
Meanwhile,
armed thugs federal officers are beating up navy vets in Portland:

Christopher David is not a man of steel.
But he has earned that and other nicknames — some call him "Captain Portland" or "Supersoldier" — after David stood as solidly as a rock while federal officers pepper sprayed him twice and struck him at least five times with a baton during a rally outside the Hatfield Courthouse on Saturday, July 18.
[...]
David says he has two fractures in his hand and, while it's currently in a splint, he is expecting to need surgery later this week.
After a flurry of attention, David is hoping life will return to normal soon. While he never did speak with the camouflaged feds, he said he hopes they hear his message:
"That oath of office is essentially swearing loyalty to the Constitution of the United States, and what they're doing is not constitutional anymore."

And that's not even the craziest thing he's said lately.
Giuliani used to a good mayor. A little heavy handed with the cops for my taste, but the city needed some of that when he took over. He was competent, generally reasonable, and made a credible run for President coming from the centrist wing of the party. When he started working for Trump, I assumed he was just selling his soul to make a lot of money like so many other New York lawyers do. But it's become clear over the last 6 months that he's become fully addicted to the Kool-aide.
Recently there was Michael Flynn, who used to be a highly respected career military leader, pledging his allegiance to QAnon on the 4th of July.
What the hell happened to these people? Seiously, what the hell. I'm watching 40% of my country turn into a hive mind, all consuming the same conspiratorial propaganda like kids drawn to candy, growing increasingly detached from any objective reality. If their Facebook feed told them the sky is green, they would accept it and claim the blue we see is from a communist plot to turn every state into a "blue" state.

Trump is a black hole for sanity.

They are just following executive orders. On the plus side, you just might get to experience what it would be like to live in a Alan Moore comic:

Yeah, but Trump is just the lightning rod, not the generator of electrical charge.
This movement towards conspiratorial thinking and away from knowledge, reason, and observable fact has been building up for a long time. But social media really amplified it, and Trump's takeover of the Republican party sort of legitimized it.
But I'm still wondering where these things are originating and how easily they influence people who ought to know better. The theory that BLM is a communist plot to take over the country and throw the white people out appeared out of nowhere a month or so ago, and when it appeared it was suddenly all over the place in a span of like one week. It didn't take long before conservative mass media picked it up and now Trump has a version of it in a campaign ad.
