Not to mention Senator Marino and Senator Marsha Blackburn, both republicans, sponsored legislation which shielded big pharma from prosecution for over saturation with opiates (may as well have been pushers) and then passed it with a republican majority making it far more difficult for the FBI.

If your health care insurance system is publicly funded and operated, it is far more resistant to corruption and waste. The system in the USA relies on waste and corruption, to profit shareholders and industrial providers ($100.00 Aspirins in hospitals etc.) One problem is that when a certain percentage of payments are bled off to pay investors, that value is lost to the consumers. When the consumers own the services, that value can be reinvested in the system instead of being sucked out of it.
Another other problem with the US system, there is a profit incentive to screw people out of their benefits. Agents, brokers and lawyers work overtime to exploit the complexities of policies to deny claims as often and as much as possible. They hope that people will be bamboozled, intimidated, worn down or simply DIE before they can collect the benefits owed them.
With UHC, there is no money wasted on this shit. There is a schedule of services, there are fixed prices for those services. Simple and way cheaper.

Yeah, let's cut social security and Medicaid, lets see if that's the solution to the problem.
Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses or FEMA camps?

Given how often we've been warned that e-voting is a terrible idea from a security and reliability standpoint, and that it's better just stick with paper because we know it works, you'd think we'd eventually cotton on to it.
But no. We're America, damnit! WE ONLY LEARN THROUGH PAIN!

Yes, but do you know
why you pay more for the same drugs than other countries? It's because you don't regulate drug companies and you don't negotiate with them. Medicare isn't allowed to negotiate with drug companies, for example. Instead, it's private insurers who don't have anywhere near the same negotiating power as governments do.
And again, who's trying to get the prices down? It's Democrats like Warren and Bernie. When Republicans had all the power to do something about it, they did jack shit. According to them, the government should not be getting in the healthcare business. Because drug companies have been so good to the American people, apparently.

Never said public ownership was IMMUNE to corruption, just more resistant. That's an issue of administration, how well you set up checks and balances. My point is that a public system can preserve value better than a private one. If you want to address that general observation, fine, but don't do so by switching topics. That's a category error.
It is easier to hide corruption in private systems and they incentivise abuse for profit. That's the point. Public is better. It doesn't have to be perfect.
