exactly what the deep state conspiracy theories allege, alex jones type make that damn claim.
possible? yes. I keep hearing about the massive corruption involving not just bidens but pelosis kids, all getting massive paybacks with our tax dollars but it only comes from the hard core alex jones followers.

Yeah, well, those people are all a bunch of windowlickers.
The thing is, there is enough suspicious at a glance goings on to justify an investigation into the Biden's. If Trump went through the usual channels, tasking the DOJ and/or congress into forwarding a look-see into Joe's actions during that time, we'd not only have a perfectly legitimate inquiry, but it'd also be a burden on him during the election. The Democrats wouldn't be able to do anything except bitch about it.
Instead, Trump decides to go ahead and hold up 400 million in congressionally approved funding for the Ukrainian war effort without informing anyone outside of his inner circle on what he's doing, uses these funds to coerce a foreign government into investigating a political rival for future campaign ammo, and all the while, Trump's friend and personal lawyer is, at his behest, and without any official reasoning or sanctioning, running around with people roughly attached to this same foreign government, all allegedly funneling foreign money towards Republican campaigns without anyone's direct knowledge, and spreading unkind rumors about one of our own ambassadors in an attempt to force a seemingly justifiable removal from office to implant a more Trump friendly ambassador for reasons currently unknown.
The whole thing smacks of what-the-fuckery. It's like Trump and Co. were trying to find the most convoluted, most legally questionable way to go about doing things, simply to see if they could get away with it.

No, they didn't, or at least CBS didn't. Here's a recording of it right here.

Though in the end, it's a waste of time, considering the most they could hope to gain from this line of arguing is that Trump did this wholly illegal thing for what seemed to be entirely sound reasons. Like the Reagan administration going behind congress' back by selling arms to Iran to fight communists in South America. Plus, if they find Trump innocent for his alleged misdeeds, then Biden is innocent by connection, since they're being accused of basically the same crime. You can't say that abuse of office is okay in Situation A, while lambasting abuse of office in situation B, because THEY'RE BOTH ABUSE OF OFFICE!
And yeah, there are tons of politicians who are guilty of engaging in petty corruption. Back scratches here and there. Putting names ahead of others in contract bids. Stuff like that. It's not outright illegal, but it's definitely in the dark grey area of the moral spectrum that shouldn't be tolerated, but always slides.
...but hell, concerning yourself over that when Trump is around doing his thing is like offering a stern lecture on casual sexual harassment issues at the yearly office parties right after letting a violent serial rapist loose in the building.

Reckon they figure to get away with that lie because they know their true believers only watch Fox?

They don't want you to know about that thing we've been endlessly talking about for three months now, and everyone already knows about.

Ken Starr is the type of guy who could murder a child in the crib right in from a crowd of people, then call them all sick fucks for watching.
