The thing about a web of lies is when you tickle one strand, others sing along.
It seems that Rudy's most recent foray into shadow foreign policy wasn't the first kick at extorting Ukraine to help 45's political fortunes stateside. Shortly after 45 took office, Ukraine's former president, Petro Poroshenko, was shut out of the White House until Rudy went on a speaking tour there and had a secret meeting with Poroshenko and the country's lead prosecutor. Days after that meeting, the Ukraine investigations into Paul Manafort's criminal activities in Ukraine were dropped and the doors of the White House burst open to welcome Poroshenko.
Again, nothing suspicious here. Remember, "We do it all the time. Get over it"!

Is Trump trying to get the whistle-blower killed? Kind of looks that way. Here's one take.

Every time you think Trump can't get any worse, he gets worse.

I seriously doubt it. First off, there's more than one whistleblower. Secondly, the most damning evidence is coming from people who were more than willing to publicly testify. The whistleblower suddenly committing an Epstein style maybe-suicide now would not only look absolutely damning, but would help his case none whatsoever.
Trump is going after this mysterious singular whistleblower simply because it's an easy point of contention to ride, something to distract his base with yet another conspiracy theory. The worst he'll likely do is end up playing this one card a little too hard, and end up violating the Whistleblower Act.

He is already violating the whistle-blower act by counselling others to break the law. Doing that as president.
He and his thugs are referring specifically to the original whistle-blower. They are inflaming their base against the whistle-blower. They know full well the likely and violent effect which releasing that name would have to the life and safety of that person and their family. Trump called the whistle-blower a SPY and he recently said that spies should be killed. There is no subtly here. There is a naked threat to this person and to all persons who do their duty exposing his crimes.
The original whistle-blower is irrelevant to the investigation now. You said it. Naming them and wishing them harm is simply hollow vengeance. It can't save Trump from his own damning actions, it can only make the case against him worse. And yet he publicly pursues his revenge against a toothless enemy, while he ignores the real threat to his vile existence.
His last defense is now blood in the streets.

Really, the only thing any of us can do at this point is watch the shit roll downhill.

SAN DIEGO — Smuggling gangs in Mexico have repeatedly sawed through new sections of President Trump's border wall in recent months by using commercially available power tools, opening gaps large enough for people and drug loads to pass through, according to U.S. agents and officials with knowledge of the damage.
The breaches have been made using a popular cordless household tool known as a reciprocating saw that retails at hardware stores for as little as $100. When fitted with specialized blades, the saws can slice through one of the barrier's steel-and-concrete bollards in minutes, according to the agents, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the barrier-defeating techniques.

The smuggling crews have been using other techniques, such as building makeshift ladders to scale the barriers, especially in the popular smuggling areas in the San Diego area, according to nearly a dozen U.S. agents and current and former administration officials.
