So? The group Reagan armed became so Al queda. You don't know WTF you are going to get there
Renzatic on 20/10/2019 at 00:19
You know, if you approached this from a different angle, arguing a more netural "yeah, it's tragic, but they're not our responsibility" angle, rather than trying to paint a group of people who have traditionally been shit upon by everyone else in the Middle East, and are currently getting their homes blown up by Turkish military as the real terrorists, you wouldn't come across as such a big cunt.
jkcerda on 20/10/2019 at 00:27
ThatS just it. No real way to paint them since we don’t know wtf things will evolve into. In order for them to stablish their own area they need to take it from others , as muchas we may like them ideologically it means one group must fuck another for that to happen. I. Bring up christoper Columbus for the same reason. How do you think the nations that are threatened by the Kurds feel because we armed them?
Renzatic on 20/10/2019 at 00:39
Like everyone in the Middle East, the Kurds aren't exactly kind, innocent people. They've engaged in their fair share of partisan violence. That's just the way of life for all those people living out in the desert, where old hates still thrive. That said, given their usual stances on political issues, and that they tend to be a relatively more progressive bunch than most of their neighbors, we have no direct reason to assume they'd become the next Al Qaeda or ISIS, both of which they've helped us fight over the years. They've been a pretty stalwart ally in fighting the death to America bunch over there.
But who knows. You could be right. History could vindicate you. Problem is, with all the evidence on hand, with everything considered, your entire argument comes across less as an actual concern, more as an angle you're playing to justify us leaving them in a big, bad lurch.

Obama fucked up by arming them
Trump fucked up by just leaving
The more we are involved the worse shit gets over there. Arm one group and you fuck over the rest , the mast thing that area needs is more guns, we create endless terrorist that RIGHTFULLY HATE OUR STUPID ASSES , endlessly bombing civilians makes them join the fight against US. .
Renzatic on 20/10/2019 at 01:53
The Kurds have never hated us. The Turks are a NATO ally, and never would've attacked us. If we stayed, things probably would've ended up taking a more peaceful solution.
Edit: after reading up more on our history with them in the region, we've already fucked them over twice before. Guess this is par for the course.

So now Trump said "we" control the oil fields. But the U.S. doesn't control the oil fields. Russia just took major Syrian oil fields.
Not surprising that someone as loose lipped as Trump would betray his real affiliation.
jkcerda on 20/10/2019 at 02:27
Whose oil fields ? Should we put an American flag on oil fields in sovereign countries now?
Renzatic on 20/10/2019 at 02:36
Then why did Trump say as much?
