Australia must have the cheapest fuel outside of Oman and it still seems too high to most and is making anything that is vaguely reliant on transportation, ie everything, leap up in price). If it goes up too much more it seems like prices would go nuts and it'd soon be time to break out the (

I wonder what the exchange rate between modern dollars and DX credits actually is though. I did a brief search and couldn't find anything. With snack and beer prices it might seem to be 1:1 but if you use the price of houses in the goddamn Champs Elysees it could easily be 100:1. My guess is that they didn't really think about it and hoped there wouldn't be too many helpless nerds wondering about it.

Well, you guessed wrong. I think you're the one who's thinking too much about it, exchange rate and all that.
That's a shot from the SoCal map, as in Southern California. As in where I am. Where I am gas price has just exceeded 4 bucks this year, which is why I remembered this.
It's that simple!

American gas prices are really stupidly low.

It's a valid point about the exchange rate since the tax is listed as only .006 per gallon (or liter) while today it's still at $.009 per gallon. Something changed and we don't know what. Still, it's nerdy fun to try to tie game world events to reality.
BTW, gas here shot up from $3.99 to $4.09 overnight and then the next day after that it was at $4.15 so why aren't you in the ocean, yet.:p

We get a volume discount. :p

I think you're a bit confused about what I was trying to say in my post. I did realise what your post was about, it just led me to wonder what the exchange rate is.
"Well, you guessed wrong. I think you're the one who's thinking too much about it" is precisely what I was saying, I think you have misinterpreted it as me attacking you or something. If it helps, me saying "My guess is that they didn't really think about it" was referring to the developers

Haha... I find it really funny (and shameful) that we're actually seeing the gas prices projected in a video game for a time of crisis and global economic collapse... and yet here we are, with no Gray Death or widespread turmoil, and we've exceeded those prices. :D
Three cheers for humanity!
