I spoke to the old Nord who gave me his key (we all know how necessary keys are) to the ancient Nord burial of Harold where his magical axe is. Something about a Dunmer/Dwemer Princess' tomb on a small island between Tel Branora Molag Mar. I wandered around but didn't find any Axe. I found some caves and tombs, but I guess those weren't it. I found the Warlock ring and I found that shipwreck that supposedly had a sunken treasure, but all I found there were a few ebony chunks and some small slaughterfish.
So, if anybody has found the Axe, I'd like to know the name/location of this tomb, to see if I've been there and missed the axe or if I haven't found it yet. Thanks.

found it -- it's a tomb whose name I can't recall (sorry) but it starts with an 'M' and faces South, on an island off the western coast between molag mar and the daedric stuff.
deep inside the tomb is another area, a maze (easy to beat with teleport)and the axe is past a door in the center of the maze.
The axe itself sucks -- only shock damage 1-25, plus I think steel axe based, worth 120 gp. There is a lot of wealth otherwise there (tons of gold, diamonds, etc) and some other enchanted items, plus the atmosphere is kinda neat in there

It looks like a neat dungeon, but is like aschueler said... really easy to get through... you can float over the whole maze part(kind of dissapointed me that you are given that option). The axe is indeed worthless... the enchantment could have at least been cast on strike or maybe atleast be able to hit things farely hard... but it isnt. Though, there are some secret alcoves in there with some nice things.
Levitate up to the top of the cavern where the corpse and axe is, there is a small ledge(sort of hidden, you can spot a purple crystal thing on the ledge) There should be a daedric war hammer, daedric god helm(not enchanted, just a name... really ugly in my opinion), and a chest with some stuff in it.
Never mind, I already found it. the set up is pretty cool, the skeletal King in his longship surrounded by some (crappy) treasures. The axe is very dissapoiting, it's just a sparkbolt nordic axe, worth a few hundred gold. Though he does have ebony bracers, I find they are too heavy for the paltry extra few armor points they give you. There shouldn't be any quest or specially named weapon in the game unless it's useful/powerful/valuable. A crappy nordic axe and a silver sword? Hardly justifies a pathetic maze inhabited by some weak skeletons, but for this game, that's a HUGE dungeon. I remember in Daggerfall searching for a silver weapon to fight werewolves, but Morrowind, with the absurd training that makes level advancement and the powering up of characters way too quick and easy. Morrowind just isn't as fun as Daggerfall.

Where is this old Nord?

In one of the inns in Vivec; there's a lizardman (sorry, can't recall the name) slave in the same place. I'm pretty sure it's in one of the two Saint cantons.

He's in the foreign quarter, in the bar where the first Cauis quest takes you

Ta. Maybe I ought to get on with the main quest sometime......
Nah. I'm only Level 40 atm more quests from random guilds are better.
