... most of the population displacement I'm aware of is caused by guys with guns.
Maybe, but more and more wars now have environmental factors at their heart.

We all know its happening, we all know global warming is starting, yet we still are waiting for the news to tell us before we actually do anything about it, or before we start actually worrying. WORRYING DOES NOTHING!!! The government knows too but they're not gonna report much about it because that would cause PANIC!!! And we dont want panic because then riots start, suicude's happen, and all of that bullshit excuse my french.
Ummm...no. And I'm offended by your filthy mouth.

What scares me most, as far as my own life and that of my wife and daughter are concerned, is the increasingly tangible possibility that the Gulf Stream stops pumping warmth up to the UK:

Or in even simpler language:

Living, as I do, in a low-lying region of the UK, some of my friends and colleagues work at the forefront of this sort of environmental research. I have to say many of them are pretty gloomy, especially the ones looking at human attitudes to environmental change. I'm a historian, so perhaps I'm more sympathetic to the view that huge shifts in mankind's behaviour can and do happen, but the problem with the Gulf Stream / Atlantic Conveyor is that it can stop in less than a decade, but will take 100s to 1,000s of years to restart.
I do wonder what my county, let alone the world, may be like when my daughter is my age.

my mouth aint moving. and I'm sorry but I don't understand people sometimes with all of this being offended "(!|3/s!)". But I suppose I could use less "BAD" words when I'm trying to express my views...
Ok, so mabye we dont "ALL" know it's happening but look at today. Look at all of the natural disasters today. Look at how much money and time scientists and government funding are putting into global warming! It's right in front of everyone's face and infact, we're LIVING in it! I believe it's happening based on the world today compaired to 60 years ago.
I am not trying to make enemys, but i am a very blunt person. No more BAD language for me ;)
:EDIT:
and p.s.
If i need to start a poll about how many people think global warming is in effect, I sure will.

Agreed, but doesn´t this end in an ice-age?
Yeah, and we're all going to freeze the day after tomorrow.

Perhaps everything I've read is incorrect, but a big part of global warming is the Greenhouse Effect.
Sure, I think the term "greenhouse effect" has been invented in late 80s before the long term phenomenon of global warming has been recognized. Suddenly "grenhouse effect" went out of fashion for general public.

The first I remember was sour rain, then the ozon-hole over the south-pole, later over the north-pole too, greenhouse, global warming.
