I've been pointed at this site before and after reading a bit of it with all the comedy gold, etc I saw a green blob the size of Vegas on my hoax detection screen.

I'm not so certain that it's entirely a hoax. Their entry for (
http://www.conservapedia.com/Atheism) atheism, for example:
Quote:
Atheism, in common usage, means "lack of belief in any Gods". As Atheism is part of a scientific worldview which is based upon observable evidence rather than dogmatic insistence upon the veracity of superstitious claims which are unsupported by evidence, it also discounts supernatural phenomena such as ghosts, psychics, fairies, and other such ideas.
If you look at the whole page, it's not
entirely ridiculous, and seems rather balanced, assuming it's written by a conservative christian about atheism.
However, many other pages seem outright insane. Vandalism or fundamentalism, it's hard to tell.

I still can't get to the page. Grr.

Wikipedia often uses foreign spelling of words, even though most English speaking users are American. Look up "Most Favored Nation" on Wikipedia and it automatically converts the spelling to the British spelling "Most Favoured Nation", even there there are far more American than British users.
"English speaking users"? English speaking users of what? In any case, Wikipedia is supposed to be international, not a platform for American nationalism.
Oh dear. Well, if this is indeed a project of homeschooled children of conservative parents, it fits pretty well.
I'd agree with Gray that it could be genuine. Some of the bits seem "crazy" because it sounds exactly like stereotyped adult conservative opinion filtered through teenage minds. In its own context it is perfectly ordinary, unfortunately.

The entry for evolution is disapointingly free of statements that Darwin is burning in hell or whatever as well.

I fail to understand how anyone is getting to this - it seems to be permanently down.
Maybe if I try in the middle of the night?
Starrfall on 25/2/2007 at 23:39
Try googling it, going to the cached google page, and then working from there?

I wonder how much vandalism a user could manage before being banned...
Damn, it seems they don't allow edits from non-users and they don't allow non-users to register.

I can't imagine why

Got to it (can't type proper cause dog bit my finger). At leastn they dont make any claims asn to neutrality (argh this is hopeelss).
Circular logic:
"Some (particularly non-Christians) dilute the meaning of faith, depriving it of its power and significance. The Merriam-Webster dictionary, for example, includes this watered-down definition of faith: "a system of religious beliefs."[1] Under this meaning, any and every religion has "belief" or "faith". But faith preached uniquely by Jesus obviously refers to something far more precise than any "a system of religious beliefs," and such faith has never been preached in the same way by non-Christian religions."
Just remember the first coservapedia commandment: "Everything you post must be true and verifiable."
So, no religion then!
But wait!
"The very first words of the Mayflower Compact were “In ye name of God Amen.” Just as our Nation's founders started with a prayer, so do we. Prayer clears out the noise in our minds. We are looking for knowledge and inspiration here, and that comes from God. In most countries parents do not have the freedom even to have a class like this. The main reason we have freedoms is because Americans are more devoted to religion than in other countries."
Because those Iranians are all a bunch of atheists
