Hi! Just joined. My UW2 is unplayable at the moment as I've lost one of the rusty old disks but I'm shopping around to buy another one hopefully on CD. When I played it last I got stuck because I couldn't find the Amethyst rod - pretty annoying but when I played it some years ago I luckily had some maps that told me where all the goodies were. It would be nice if anyone out there could help me with this or even has the maps! I hate cheating really but these did come in handy when I was truly stuck! Bidding on e-Bay at the moment for the game, hope I get it! (Getting withdrawel symptoms!) :(

You can find a replacement amethyst rod if you lost/didn't found the one in Talorus. Complete the Purple World in the Ethereal Void, color the pyramid purple, and fly to the moongate above. You're teleported to a small room full of purple items, including amethyst rods.

Ooh Gez Thank you, didn't know that! I've just bought a copy of UW2 on ebay (floppy) and now my bloody a drive has broken. Good job I'm bidding for the CD version too! I'll get there in the end. Thanks for your answers, they will be helpful when I eventually get to play the game.
