That did seem kinda silly. Was it in the middle of rush hour or something?
No, that's pretty average, everyday traffic around here. During rush hour, things are usually slower, and the urge to kill far greater.

One last video and then I promise I will shut up. Until the Arizona DLC comes out at least.

Currently at 14 hours played, 70% of the roads in California and Nevada traveled. I've bought my own truck and almost paid off the loan to the bank. Also switched from driving with the gamepad to the Logitech wheel. I felt like looking around would be more difficult with this setup, and it is, but I still made it work. Think I've had my fill of ATS at the moment, gonna hang it up till the DLC shows up. Oh, and I made (

Oh man, I just had an amazing trucking moment. I was delivering a load to Carson City when I glanced at my fuel gague and noticed it was almost empty. Stupidly enough, I'd forgotten to refuel before taking this job. Looking at the map I see that I've passed the last gas station on the way over here. If I run out of gas I'll have to give up the job and get my truck towed, giving up my payment and then some. Of course I could simply turn around and head back to the last gas station I passed, but where's the fun in that? With what little gas I have left I think I can just about make it. I take another look at the map, see that my destitation is close to the outskirts of Carson, and I gun it. A little bit before the city the engine sputters and goes quiet, but I'm still coasting at high speed. Up ahead is an intersection where I'll need to take a right, and then another right into the factory yard where I'm delivering the goods. I gently squeeze down on the brakes just enough to not tip over as I take a tight right turn through the intersection, praying I won't crash into anything as I swerve over into the meeting lane. I've lost speed, but I'm still rolling fast enough that I make the second turn into the yard, where I hit the brakes and hand in the cargo. I have to get my truck towed to the gas station after this, but at least the job is completed.

Started up ATS again earlier this week and noticed some big developments have happened in my absence. Arizona has been added, and the Steam Workshop is in place. I celebrated by modding in a Skoda Superb and going on a roadtrip through Arizona.

Seeing as the driving physics isn't made for cars, the thing handles pretty damn well I gotta say. I'm enjoying cruising down the highway in it, weaving in and out of lanes as I overtake other drivers, and more so than in any other driving game I've played, I'm afraid of crashing. Because it'll be damn expensive if I do! This being ATS, and the community being hardcore, you don't simply get the car by modding it in. You still need to shell out for $53 000, and it takes up garagespace, which you don't have. So you take out a $400 000 loan to unlock 2 more spots in your garage, buy a second truck, hire a driver for it, and then get the car. The interest alone means I need to pay off over $5000 a day. Which means I should probably be working instead of blowing off work for a week to go on a joyride, but what the hell.

Very nice! I think what I'd want out of these games is a free mode where you can drive wherever, whenever. In fact I'd also prefer a regular car to a truck. Just driving around, listening to the radio, as I did so often when playing San Andreas.

No console commands to make things easier? I'm skeptical about these games being interesting usually but henke's enthusiasm is contagious. Still got too many driving games I haven't played through at the moment...

Yeah sure, there's mods that'll give you more money than you'll ever need, and you can disable speeding tickets through the game's options.
