Am I the only one who think that we really need some bigger dungeons? - by Exodus_dk

Where DF was too heavy on massive dungeon complexes - especially along the main plot(Wayrest, just to mention one) - I think that the dungeons in Morrowind simply are too small and too quickly overcome.
I really long for a LONG HARD trek into the bowels of the earth. Also the Dwemer ruins were a huge disappointment. The Dwemer story and litterature really caught my interest - however having my expectations tuned up high by the first ruin I was VERY sad to discover that most other Dwemer ruins were small in comparison. This were not made better by this guy in the Balmora's fighter's guild ranting about how big and impressive some of the other sites were. Just take the one where you go to get the excavation report - a ruin that was supposed to be one of the biggest on Vvardenfell - to my disappointment I found that the place were VERY small - and no interesting artifact either.
After having read the book The Ruins of Kemel-Ze(or whatever it's called), I was very excited to see if I could find this place... And I found a place that could be it - regarding location on a cliff and so. However the huge underground complex described by the book and the many disfunctional robots were nowhere to be found :( Too bad - somebody make a mod for this :) Would be too cool.

I agree! Someone should make a Nethack mod :)
I did meet the robots though, although they didn't seem to be very disfunctional

Totally agree Exodus
Arkgthand or whatever its called (the ruins by Moonmoth Fort) has been the only Dwemer place that even comes close to the size I was expecting. But, there are many dungeons yet to be explored by me so I'm not going to say too much just yet. I can say that I was very disappointed with the dungeon size of the place where artifact hammer Sunder was at...bummer.
Just a personal preference, but I would rather have 10 HUGE ruins and such than 100 small ones. It's cool that there are so many places but frankly I will probably never even come close to exploring them all. Once I finish the game I don't know if I'll want to replay it or continue exploring the world. Might just move on to another game or wait for some extremely large kickass mods to come out (probably take another 4 months or so before anything decent appears, I'm guessing).

somone should re-do the Lich's Dungeon, like the one in DF. That was a... toilet full of fun.
In Morrowind, it seems like most of the exploring is done on teh outside. Because there is no quick travel, you have to walk to some places by foot, and then you see a bunch of small dungeons on the way there.
I however would like some larger dungeons. No bigger than Privateer's Keep in DF, but bigger than your avg daedra shrine.

Zily, you've just sparked an idea. PRIVATEER'S HOLD MOD! Get back to you all when I can be arsed to see if I can do it ;)

well, my main char has gone through a great deal of the storyline - I'm at day 250 or something - so as you can figure, I haven't rushed the plot...
Actually I've spent a lot of time exploring - and I've yet to see a dungeon(with the exception of Kogoruhn) that is bigger than Ankgthand(or whatever it's called. So sorry - but I don't think they'll be there... Perhaps the great dwemer ruins in the Red Mountain crater - I can't enter them yet though :) Guess it'll come.
The hammer sunder??? Haven't found that one! Spoil me please :)

It's part of the storyline.. and its within the ghostfence ... you won't get it until you have completed the fifth trial of the nerevarine... heheh i dont wanna spoil the storyline for you though.

Well, actually, i was thinking about starting on Pirvateer's keep =). It would require re-installing DF, but it would be a lot of fun.
I'm thinking about adding a fun little dungeo that will be real easy to die in lol. I'll see how it turns out.

Yes.. Dungeons too small. NO DRAGONS!... Dagoth Ur was a respectable size... FOR AN OLD MAN WITHOUT VIAGRA! Someone should make me some big dungeons WITH A DRAGON IN THEM! and then it'll be better... DAMNIT!

I totally disagree. I like the dungeons the size they are. What they each lack in scope, the make up for in sheer quanitity. I much prefer the idea of 75 small dungeons to 10 big ones. I find massive-scope dungeons to be a big logisitical chore after a while.
Plus, I'm not a dungeon guy. I don't like bowels of the earth, I don't like ghosts and undead and so forth. I like above-ground, buildings, cities, and human opponents. But that's just me. So in this respect, Morrowind is perfect for me (except there's a little too much dungeoning :) ).
