Well, it seems that while I can eventually get to the main forum page, trying to follow any link that leads to a specific post is a complete no-go for me. I get the frigging CloudFlare page, it eventually gives me the checkbox, I click it, it briefly says that the verification was passed, then it goes right back to the verifying message. This just repeats endlessly.

The thing is that CloudFlare has been around for years, and was almost certainly around when Firefox 74.x was a current browser. Presumably it was on the approved list back then, so why did they remove it?
You can argue that by virtue of being old, it's not as secure as newer versions, but why does that matter to CloudFlare? They're only supposed to be concerned with whether someone is a bot or a human.

I don't have a legitimate copy (or any copy really) of any newer Windows version. At one point, I assumed I'd simply switch to Windows 7 and stick with that for a few years. It would be unsupported, but that's no different than the situation I'm in now. Unfortunately, I want to be able to run emulators and virtually all the major emulators now require Windows 10 as minimum. You know, because no prior version of Windows is now capable of running anything at all...
I'm considering building a new system from the parts I have and then putting Windows 10 on it, rather than Win11, because I don't want Recall, and all the AI crap they keep forcing into it.
I've considered Linux, but I know absolutely nothing about it. I also have a bunch of scripts I've written for Windows that I really don't want to lose. And while I know they could be re-written in some Linux scripting language, that would require learning a new scripting language. Windows Batch is similar enough to BASIC, that I was able to pick up the basics fairly easily.

I'd really like to know exactly how they tell who's a legitimate user. Obviously it's based on the browser, but what exactly do they check? It has to be more than the user agent because changing that has no effect. What kind of deep dive are they doing, and why is it so hard for other browsers to pass it?
