So then is it possible to set it so they have the constant gloomy weather, but a day night cycle? I appreciate their attempt at atmosphere, but it seems to me that if it can only be dark gloomy day, or moonless night, that's far more atmospheric/scary than only dark gloomy day. Besides it's DEFINITELY more atmospheric to walk ten feet through a level load and not have pitch black midnight turn into overcast midday.
What files do I edit to change this?

Yes, as far as I know.

You should ask on specific mod forums I think how to do that. There are plenty of mods (weather mods more often than others) that enable day-night cycle on those maps, but usually the mods additionally change/add some other things :)

I wish more mods were dedicated to one particular change than tweaking the hell out of the game. The chances of someone liking every single change in a big tweak mod are slim.

Yeah, ok, fair enough. Yeah I've found mods that give those places full weather/day cycles, like it could be clear sky and sunny in Yantar, and needless to say I was not fond of that idea. But since all the ones I came across affected the weather and day cycle, I figured they were intertwined. I'll have to do some snooping.
