Hey, I've been really enjoying STALKER so far, great atmosphere, but I've run into a little problem, which is kinda killing the atmosphere. It appears to always be day time in the Red Forest. I'll admit I'm using a mod, Realism Graphic Mod 2.0, which just tweaks some of the sunlight effects to be a bit more realistic and (more importantly) makes the sun's location actually move across the sky over the course of the day. I thought Vanilla Stalker was supposed to do this, has the capacity to do it anyway, but didn't appear to. The mod works great everywhere else, ups the atmosphere nicely, but I'm in the middle of the night in Army Warehouse, I zone into Red Forest and suddenly it's the middle of a rather dreary day. Turning the mod off doesn't seem to help, though it does appear to actually turn off when I examine other areas.
Is this even the mod's fault, anyone else discovered this problem, is it supposed to be that way for some reason? I know the Zone is a weird place, have I missed some lore where it's always midday in the Red Forest? Any help would be appreciated. It's not a deal breaker, I can just keep playing and ignore it, but I absolutely loved the nights. Just terrifying. Adds a lot of value to the game.

Some locations have a permanent weather and time of day setting, it's normal, Red Forest is one of them.

Yantar is another example.

And Pripyat, and Dark Valley :)

Dark Valley does have weather, as far as I can remember. It's been a good while since I started up the game. :o

Yes, it has weather but not day cycle ;)

Same here, trying to finish long time ago planned full system upgrade and experience the game in dynamic lighting mode at last.

Huh, I hadn't noticed it in Yantar or Dark Valley, though now that I think about it, yeah I can't really remember night in either of those two places. I probably just noticed it in Red Forest because I zoned in the middle of the night, from pitch black, into fairly bright.
Anyone have any idea why this is? For a game with a Day-Night cycle to suddenly not have one in some areas is pretty immersion breaking. Is this a bug/quirk, or intentional for some reason? Yantar in particular would definitely benefit from the addition of night. Further, anyone know of any mods that change this?

Yantar during night time would be fucking terrifying, especially when you have yet to go into X16.

Which would be the whole reason why it'd be so awesome. :D

It could be part of the "Dean Sharpe Dumb-Down" the game got to get it out the door.
