Mmm, not TOO long, I had the whole summer after all :)
And thanks for the compliment. Perhaps I'll get back to making the System Shock maps

I haven't played Underworld for a 2-3 years at least (a long time, didn't even remember the level architecture), but as I remember, the maps weren't so dark. Your's seemed too dark. Or maybe I should just turn up the brightness.

Not only were they dark, but they were even darker when you ran out of torches.

I tried out one of the Unreal maps of UW a while back and noticed that the usually great lighting of the engine didn't capture the loneliness of the original darkness laden game. I liked it, but I liked the torch light in UW better.

UT engine can produce good enviroment into game. Just takes effort to fiddle with the lighting. Thievery catches the Dark Engine enviroment totally, although I played only the very early development version of the mod.
Good stuff ahead <IMG SRC="thumb.gif" border="0">

Thats quite an achievement Zerker. You should be quite proud of yourself really.

I'd love to see UW2 converted to the UT engine, but alas I fear that some big corporation who owns the rights to it would start issuing those lovely "cease and desist" orders.
Though I often wonder why no-one has tried to create a totally original first-person based RPG mod for UT - could be cool.
hmmmm - /me thinks about starting a pet project for myself ;)

I've "started" a Rune Underworld mod, but life has rather derailed my efforts at the moment. I was thinking of picking up again with Unreal 2, as my more advanced modeling classes at school should correspond with its release.

Probably a good idea, PraetorJudis..
Although..
I think Morrowind would be an even better engine to use. Think of all the subsystems you'd have to add to Unreal, could be a pain etc. Plus the sci-fi theme would mean you'd have to create more content.. interesting.

Morrowwind may work indeed, they'd do most of the hard work for me, eh?!
