My wife taught a first-year botany course last fall, and the students addressed her as professor. It means basically nothing apart from being qualified enough to teach the course in the first place, presumably.
Congrats Risquit and don't let the cheeky little shits get to you. Some of 'em will definitely try.

Oh. Well, it's still impressive! Let us know how it goes, I'm probably heading that way myself in the near-ish future. I already have students, but only two and one of them doesn't really listen to me so he barely counts.

Oh hell yeah, I didn't mean demean him at all. Congrats again!

Congrats on your job. I don’t agree that you need to be tough at first. Your students must always feel that you are approachable. You have agreed to be an educator and the teaching does not stop when the bell rings. Your students need to feel that they can always ask for additional help. It is a tough balance to find and maintain but you’ll figure it out. Remember to smile a lot in class. :D Your students will notice.

Also remember to nicely tell the students not to mutter among themselves during the lecture.

My wife teaches tutorials in stats, as I once did, I find teaching to be a blast when you have a class full of people who aren't idiots and who are genuinely giving the subject matter a go ... different story when they're fuckwits or aren't really interested and are just fishing for easy/necessary credits.
My advice: kill the first one who uses a cell phone as an example to the rest.
