Far above Earth, several aliens are talking in a spaceship.
'We come in peace,' croaks one to the other, 'yet what news have your spies brought in?'
'Ah yes. With the information I have gathered, I have been able to hack into a network on that planet, called the Internet. It is very uninteresting, except for one aspect of it.'
'And what is that?'
'This so-called Internet is able to- associate this planet's creatures by things called forums. Very strange! People from all over the planet, so long as they are connected to this Internet, are able to create new things called threads on the 'forums'. Other people then 'post' replies on the 'threads', and so they communicate. Really rather extraordinary!'
'But why did you take so long?' asks the other alien. 'You've been researching that 'Internet' for two years now!'
'Ahem-yes. That so-called Internet has one other appealing minor aspect I forgot to mention. It's not that important at all, really-'
'Just what is this 'appealing' thing you talk about?'
'Things called 'pictures' on which you can-ahem-see-the planet's creatures without any -er-covering.'
Long silence.
'Oh yes!' says the second alien quickly, 'those 'forums' and their 'threads'. Well, on a 'forum' called TTlG, there's a very sad- that means uncontent- creature, or 'user', called woodsiegirl, who is sad because no one ever replies to any 'threads' she creates...
