Aw, I was really looking forward to it but the delay is definitely for the best.
As far as the trailer, I love the Moon soundtrack but that song seems a little too upbeat for Aliens.

Just watched both trailers and the E3 walkthrough demo. Looks like pimped up AvP2 played with a gamepad without Predator (the dullest) and Alien (the best) campaigns.
They should make a game of Alien3 which is the best sequel anyway.
BTW How the hell a motion tracker differentiates aliens from marines? Will space-rats show as yellow dots?

I don't have any issues with Alien3 like some people do, but the best sequel? You deserve whatever shit you get for that comment.
And isn't the motion tracker answer obvious? The marines have a chip in their uniform or something that tells the tracker to disregard their signal.

Not in Aliens they don't. They have to check with the other team and Gorman that they aren't picking up one of theirs when they first pick up Newt moving.

However, the tracker doesn't beep due to the presence of the friendly squad surrounding the tracker, so it's at least a little confusing how it actually works.

No it's not, it's directional.

Isn't the motion tracker behind Drake and Vasquez when they start picking up Newt on it? As I recall it doesn't indicate contacts right in front, just the one 'unknown' that turns out to be Newt. I seem to remember something similar right before the initial fight, when the motion tracker is being turned in a circle and is reading hostiles incoming from every direction but isn't showing the squad. I might be wrong, but I don't think the motion tracker was always in front of everybody else.

They may not have stuck to the science but it's definitely directional which is why when they walk they swing it around in the direction they want to "look".
If you watch the marines movements in the film it's far from accurate as far as marines would really move. They take smartguns into tiny rooms, bunch up together in stupid ways (that may be okay for tension but make no sense at all for people going into that situation). There are loads of scenes where 2 or 3 marines are crammed into a tight space, with the person in front having their gun/flamer ready but the person behind being in no position to open fire because they are too damn close.

Yeah, I agree that it's directional, and I'm not really commenting on marine tactical doctrine- I'm just saying I seem to remember them occasionally pointing the motion tracker in directions where, if it were showing all movement including friendlies, it would be indicating a friendly right in front of them as there were other marines in its 180 degree forward arc. That leads me to believe it somehow excludes friendly contacts. It's been a while though and I don't have the film on hand so I might be totally off.
