Yeah, thanks for the link. For some reason both amazons were playing up.
You know, that collection is a lot stronger than the first in my opinion, The Birds and Vertigo stand with Psycho as being the most seminal works that Hitchcock did.
Marnie is the only other I've seen of that set. I've heard plenty about the controversial Frenzy, and both Torn Curtain and Topaz were on my list of ones to watch.
I may still buy this one, if I can ever find it more conveniently.

The first link has more of the well known Hitchcock films.
If you enjoy what you watch try and look up some of the Selznick produced films, Rebecca and Notorious

So far enjoying his classics: Psycho and The Birds (had seen it several times in bits) down...lets see what's next...hmmm...Rear Window's eyeing me....hmmm...
Yup, Signature Collection ahoy.
Btw...anyone seen his silent-era works?, how good are they?

Rear Window was disappointing, I'm not really sure why though. Rope is an underrated classic... it's so morally decadent, yet at the same time, not.
To be honest though, I find it hard to choose between Vertigo and Psycho as my favourite. They are both so very definitive of what I love about Hitchcock. Great acting and musical direction. Each have defining cinematography moments. Slow building atmosphere. Big end payoff.

Rear Window disapointing? what what waht!
still I must admit the first time I saw it it was on some late night tv channel, and I had no idea what I was watching, or even that it was a Hitchcock movie, so the impact could have been greater.

As I say, Piglick, I found it disappointing and I'm not really sure why. Funnily enough, I actually saw a remake of Rear Window when I was really young starring Steve Guttenberg (of POLICE ACADEMY FAME and COOCOON :D) and thought it was really brilliant. I never knew of Hitchcock really at that age and then later, when I sat down to watch the original, it just felt lacking, especially the climax. Of course, since I own it and it will soon be coming into my possession again (when the shipment finally gets delivered), I will rewatch it.

BUT DO YOU LIKE THE BIRD!?
CONFIRM/AGREE/DENY/COMMIT SEPPUKU?
Hmmm...gotta watch Rear Window next...hmmm...and yes, I've heard quite a bit about Rope.
