I've got a few questions about the game that have been buggin me. Thus far, I've just been kinda running around from the beginning of the game w/o any idea what I'm supposed to be doing, other than warning some king about some attack.

I've been meandering thru the posts and have seen people talking about all kinds of quests, but the last one I had was to get a gem dealer's license and have the authorization signed. After I did that, I just went around the troll on the suspension bridge and started going down levels.

Am I missing something here or is this how it's supposed to be done? So far this has spawned quite a few questions...

Whoa there, Shodin. You've gone way ahead of yourself in the game. You need to head up to level one and talk to the king. I could go ahead and answer all of your questions but that would be a spoiler for the whole game.

Here's what you need to do first. Head to the troll camp. From the entrance of the camp turn left and walk down a path next to a river and make a right. This will take you to some crystal caves. Go through the caves until you can go up a ramp and then you will be in the city of Arx. From there it's easy to find the castle and the king.

All the places and things you asked about will come up later in the game but you shouldn't be tackling most of those quests until much later.

In the city of Arx you can buy things in the stores (which is where you get the keyring also).

You should double-click on the runes to use them. From there you can look in your journal to see the different combinations of spells. As you could have guessed, the more runes the more spells

Oh, and one more thing. Don't go on a mass murder of the goblins, humans, or trolls. I've found it much easier to befriend them rather than commit genocide.

Ahhh geez, I completely missed the entrance from the crystal caverns. I couldn't figure out how to get into town and hadn't been there this whole time!

I talked w/the king and he wants me to deliver a message to the goblin king who I already killed. Oh well.

As far as not going on a killing spree... oops. I've already killed everything all the way down to the dwarves.

A few of the questions I've already got answered so I'll have to go back now and delete the ones I don't have questions about now.

I also found out what those goofy shrine like things are - teleporters. Just need to figure out how to work them now.

I think you can still clear the path if you didn't kill the troll locked up in the Troll Camp.
You have to find the key or pick the lock.

Here is what you need to do.

[SPOILER]Follow the directions in the cheat, putting the bone on the left into your inventory. Then go to the chair and double click on the bone then click on the chair , do this 10 times and a bunch of items will appear into your inventory.[/SPOILER]

Be carefull with this because you are not supposed to be able to get the armor and weapon until late in the game.

You can change the items you receive by changing a game file named "Player.ASL"

To open this file you need a program called ArxPak
I found it at a French Arx forum. I forgot the address but e-mail me and I will send it to you.

That's a goblin named Polsius. There's a locked room somewhere in the caves in the troll King's area. There is a troll who will offer to help you if you get him out. I hope the guy is still there and will help you or I think you will be stuck (maybe not, the developers say that you can kill everyone and still win). If you can do it let us know.

Ariakas: Ahhhh, I was equiping it as a weapon, but it was disappearing after the first or second strike. I'll have to monkey around w/that with a separate character.

Oldtimer: Yeah, that's one of the questions I have in my original post. I've killed everyone in the troll town except him. When I click on the door tho, he just groans.

I think Pog had the key or you can pick the lock. You probably need a skill of 50 or better in tech to pick it. Go for it. Hope he isn't turned against you.
