Ok, let me make my agenda clear:
It's not about "Jesus is our lord and saviour" vs "All christians are morons", or "big money is evil" vs "I love IMF". The message is not important. What I'm asking for is a method.
It's about how can I cheaply and efficiently put words and/or logos on already owned cloth?

The medium
is the message.

The medium is a black t-shirt with white words on it. While that may provoke the poor hapless unfortunates who only wear pink these days, the actual words may in fact be more interesting. For those shocked by the medium, I suggest they'd get another damn hobby. The medium is not the message, only a carrier.
But that's not the point.
The point is the method of putting white words on black cloth, as vaguely indicated by the very first line in this thread.

Black shirt, huh? Can't you just write some crap in bleach?
Gray on 24/2/2007 at 05:07
Have you tried writing a three-word sentence? It doesn't come out very legible.
[Edit]
This is the technique I currently use. Print a mask, cut out the wordy bits and sponge them on cloth with white colouring. Disregard the message, just watch the end result:

http://www.ludd.ltu.se/users/h-son/pictures/ngsahi2.jpgThat took me three hours. I want a faster method, though I'm quite pleased with the clarity of the words. I want a method that caters to my inspiration. If I want to go to the gym with an obscure Kraftwerk quote, I should be able to print it the previous day. If I want to go to the city council and discuss their cultural politics, I should have a cleverly disguised quote that implies they're fucktards unless they're actually culturally versed enough to understand it's culture. Though they're not, and wouldn't.

How 'bout one o' dem iron-on ink-jet printer sheets? Pretty damn fast and cheap I think.
Gray on 24/2/2007 at 05:41
One what-now? Please elaborate.
Strangeblue on 24/2/2007 at 06:14
* Find a functioning ink-jet printer.
* Find iron-on transfer paper for same (available from companies like Avery, Epson, and HP).
* Make design on computer.
* Flip design to mirror image.
* Print mirror image on transfer paper.
* Place already-owned fabric item on ironing board, table covered with towel, etc.
* Place printed transfer paper print side down on fabric in desired position and iron with a very hot iron until paper peels away cleanly.
* Let cool (about 8 minutes).
* Wear.

I was going to suggest that transfer paper, but I see a bit of a problem in that most printers don't come with white ink.

transfermagic.com has sheets for dark fabrics. I'm not sure if you need white ink. Unless you want to print white that is.
