After it all... can I get away with it?

I killed him once with an army of summoned undead, as it turned out a summoned army of undead isn't very powerful so it took about 10 minutes to actaully kill him, took all his strength though with my greater bonewalkers :D So I just sat back and summoned another lesser bonewalker, skeleton, bonelord and ancestoral ghost whenever one runs out of time.

Waste him. He's not that tough, but if you get into a jam just summon a golden saint that usually distracts him.

I don't like heavy armor myself, but its still part of the standard 'Look at all the neat stuff I've found' collection.
