I generally kill any spiders I find in my house, but not with the special enthusiasm I reserve for a certain other household pests: common houseflies. My god I hate them so! Just seeing one of those fat, bloated, filth-wallowing disease factories buzzing about loud and slow around MY house, through MY airspace sends me into a murderous rage. If I could, I would slay every housefly on the planet. No no, I don't care what sort of impact such a mass extinction would have on the rest of ecology. I want the fuckers gone!

because spiders cand defend themselves from us
so we must do that for them.
CyberFish on 11/4/2003 at 16:48
I'm glad I'm not scared of spiders. One of them abseiled down from my hair earlier today.
Tatum on 11/4/2003 at 16:50
Nanoking...:D thankfully, craneflies or aka leatherjackets ( just found out their called) are not poisonous(!), nor do they bite or sting, they are just large, directionless and stupid and seem to be attracted to faces, heads and hair..and are cunningly capable of evoking hysterical reaction, mainly from adults sitting in the dusk with drinkies. The picture you have is close and they might well get that large. My cat is quite fond of them as the piles of dismembered legs and wings seem to attest.

to Tatum an jkeats
you need some spiders in your house.
the web ones.
they will be your allies in fight with flying insects:)
just let them make a web somewhere.
Tatum on 11/4/2003 at 16:57
No, no spiders in ma hoose thank you much...I have chestnuts in most corners to repell the little beasts. And webs outside the house? And how many times you suppose I plant my face in one? *more reason to scream and be hysterical and the neighbours don't like that...we wussy scots dont see many ferocious bugs. Getting used to it but what I've read so far frightens me.

to Tatum
well some scary things here posted by people not-so-long-ago-went-off-a-palm.
and they just do not understand the real place of things in the world.
so they wrote that only to show their stupid fears and you got it.
thats what holywood does.
it can transform even a centipede into a raging beast, who eats anyone she encounter.
and those ppl watch films alot;)
Muzman on 11/4/2003 at 17:39
Your psychology isn't terribly up to date. I believe the idea that these fears arise from conditioning went out of fashion quite some time ago
Lytha on 11/4/2003 at 17:47
Oh, those phobias are learned and can be conditioned.
But stupid horror flicks have NOTHING to do with that.
