I wonder why Humans are so scared of spiders? Maybe they're were gaint spiders back in the stone age and we've developed a natural disliking to them in our genes? Hmmm...

It's because they have 8 legs, thats 6 more than us. (duh!)
Xenophobia at its best.

Used to have a former armed robber living in the back of a house I was living in. He was huge and wide, but all sense of terror in dealing with him faded instantly when he came and said 'Er excuse me can someone come and remove the spider from the toilet, they scare me'

I'm horribly scared of everything that has more legs than my cat, no matter its size. The larger and the more erratic, the worse it is though.
I've been known to jump back about five feet from sitting in my chair in the middle of an RP session, wildly flailing and beating at air because some kind of moth flew into the room and decided to land on my throat.
I guess it all dates back to when I had a rather large spider drop onto my face while I was asleep and wake me up by crawling around. I was four or five at the time. If a spider is sitting still and not too big, I can usually gather my courage and catch it in a glass and toss it (without the glass, obviously) out of the window, but that's about it.
Now you know my tale...

Spiders don't bother me if they don't leave their webs at face level and stay out of my space by a radius of at least five feet..and havent yet seen a wolf spider. It's those retarded craneflies around here, if you don't find one of their maggoty offspring squished between your fingers on the lawn,it's the ones that fly into your hair and believe me your going to scream like a little girl. Stupid things they are. As for that picture and if thats not a blatant joke, then thats one massive spider and oh yes... that would disturb me. Feeling things on your face and body hairs can only mean one thing...dust mites, dust mites, roly poly dust mites eating up your dead skin...yum
ah and my worst experience with spiders...I was about five or six and sat in a little wooden chair outside for a picture in my new woolly cardigan and matching tam and..and there were thousands of tiny spiders(!) swarming all over me ah god it was brutal...I sat in freshly hatched nest and I screamed for maybe fifteen minutes after.
hang on! What does a spider that big eat anyway? I don't think I want to know.

Did you know that if a spider was the size of a cat it would be big enough to consider Humans as food? :o
