Paypal have a nasty habit of making you wait 5 - 7 working days to transfer money back out of the account, which can be very annoying if you've double-transferred by accident, but other than that it's OK.

Paypal are inherently evil. Assuming nothing goes wrong, it's a great service. If it does go wrong, then you'll struggle to get your money back. The problem is that Paypal is not a bank, but they act like one. They're greedy control freaks and the world would be much better if they didn't exist.

If you're a seller using Ebay, if you don't use delivery confirmation then Paypal doesn't give a flying fuck whether the buyer already told you he got it and its great, they'll give him his money back. For buying, it's a great tool.

I understand that they only guarantee the money transfer, not product delivery (e-bay doesn't guarantee the product either for that matter). Amazon will guarantee both payment and delivery... don't use either Paypal nor e-bay for this reason. Guess I'm just risk averse...;)

Been using it for a couple of months( for buying only) and nothing has gone wrong with my account. It's a great service, it's the only thing I use to shop on the internet now. It does require a bit of patience with most payments though. No idea what the selling on Paypal is like though.
