With Good Old Games set to go live in a few more weeks, I figured that I should probably get myself set up with PayPal. Of course, I've never been one to rush into any decision; so I pulled up some information on PayPal off of Google in order to get a better idea of what I was getting into. Overall, the service looks quite good; I am a little concerned, however, with some of the criticisms lobbied against it: high service charges, freezing accounts, terrible customer service. Ultimately, before I make a call one way or another, I figured that I should ask the wonderfully friendly people at TTLG* on what they think about their experiences with PayPal and its various merits and drawbacks.

Great experience with paypal for buying.
For selling, it kinda sucks because of the fees they deduct from your ebay sales.
Never had any problems with paypal. I even have their debit card so I can withdrawl the proceeds from my account. They also have a 1.1% or some amount like that for savings thing on money you leave in there.

Paypal is excellent. So far, I've had no issues with the service through light-medium use. A word of warning: Like ebay, Paypal is a phishing magnet. Do not respond to e-mails directly.

Only use my account for buying stuff. Nothing but a great experience.
Because the whole transfer requires my own OK on the paypal site itself, I prefer Paypal over using a credit card.

Like addink, I only use it for purchases. So far so good. We've all heard the horror stories. A chance we all have to take, whether to use them or not. I'll keep my account........for now.

No problems, had an account for 3 years and have the credit card, a lot of buying, limited selling but fees are well explained. Would recommend.

Mostly purchasing, and just a few sells- I've never had a problem with PayPal in about 5 years.

Agreed, this is my only problem with paypal. On occasion I still get pretty official looking emails telling me someone has hacked my account, or spent a few thousand pounds etc. Easy to just log onto their site and check though.
