Could someone give me the additem for the mages book stolen from vivec, I left it in a shrine somewhere during an all night session and can't face trekking all over to get it back. At least I left most of the rest of the goodies at temples.
I tried
player-> additem "Chimarvamidium",1 and got a scripting error.
I was able to add imperial armour so the legion woud talk to me as I had dropped that as well.
If it can't be added can I search any file in Hex / Unicode to find out where i put it?
Cheers

try this one
player->additem "BookSkill_Heavy Armor3" 1
You had the wrong ID#
If you have the original version you can check the ID# using the Construction Set.

Thanks for that, I didn't see the point in loading the construction set as playing morrowind is taking way too much of my time and developing scenarios would leave me no time at all :D
I had looked at a saved game under console debug mode and seen that ID but thought it was a script instruction.
I knew asking people was the best way to get it.
Cheers

Heh, Forsythe - so it's ok to play a game for free by borrowing it from a friend, but not to D/L a warez copy? I can't see why you're so desperate to enchant every item you own anyway - this is already the easiest game ever made without twinking.

Yup, it's really that simple.

I think you must have me confused with someone else over this one; I've enchanted a few rings with helper spells (water breathing, etc) but otherwise rarely enchant things.

If I was to take a game to school and lend it to 50 people, who take it home, install it and use the no-cd crack, that means that the developers are losing 49 customers and their money. I see no difference if I had put it up on kazaa or something and 50 strangers had D/Led it. So how many people is it acceptabe to 'lend' it to before it becomes unreasonable?

So how many people is it acceptabe to 'lend' it to before it becomes unreasonable? That's not what I said, though; I explicitly said that it was legal if the individuals in question couldn't play it without the CD. As such, you are temporarily relinquishing all your rights and claims upon your personal license of the game and granting them to the individual you lend it to. When they return it, they likewise relinquish their hold on said rights back to you. As such, it's legal for them to play it while it's in their possession and illegal if it's not. (Ditto that for yourself)
Or, in other words, if you or they use a no-cd crack to play while not in possession of the CD, congrats, that's illegal. :p
Gah, that's enough quasi-legalese for this techie for today...

Fair enough, but I know (and I'm sure you do as well) that in the real world, when people are 'lending' each other games no cd cracks are being used most of the time. Anyway, I happy in the knowledge that I bought my copy, so

*chuckle* S'true, that's why I don't lend mine except to people whom I know won't do so ;) Laters ;)
