Wasn't it Thiefessa? The level of damage control was pretty funny.

Dude, you have no idea. As I told EM when I applied for the role, I
personally increased PC sales of Thief: Constantine's Sword by
six thousand percent.
retractingblinds, I don't know of any evidence to suggest that thiefessa was a salesman, I think she was just desperate to believe the best of everything she heard. People do that.

This is basically going to be a dumbed down version of Thief with XP for headshots no less.
I will pass and get it in the bargain bin.
Too many other GREAT games coming out I would like to play.

I will wait for a review, but I will probably get it.

Still on the fence. Liked the graphics and the 'holding the corner' pose. Disliked everything else. Groaned at 'HEADSHOT +40 XP' and wondered where the Quake-voice was.

Based on what I've seen so far, no
If it changes dramatically like, rope arrows can attach to any wooden surface, third person can be completely turned off, you can climb on any surface rather than just the ones with convenient handholds, you can jump off ropes at any point you choose, AI's react sensibly to noise regardless of their alert state, yadda yadda then maybe I'll reconsider.
And as an aside
Garrett is looking for a way in, he spies a wooden crate suspended by a rope and instead of stealthily attaching a rope arrow to the crate, climbing on top, retrieving his rope arrow, quietly shimmying up the rope and agilely leaping across to the flat area without making a sound before re using the rope arrow to gain access to the attic and not alerting a soul.
Instead of all that quiet, stealthy, action.
Our hero pulls out one of the the noisiest tools in his playkit, the fire arrow, which inexplicably doesn't light him up like a belisha beacon to any passing AI's, carefully sights on a highlighted breakpoint on the rope/crate assembly (another thing that needs changing) blows it to sh*t with a huge bright noisy fireball, thus dropping the crate to the floor in yet another explosion of sound with AI's a bare few paces away but that's OK as they are apparently modelled on German guards in British WWII movies and don't notice this sudden cacophony and conflagration occurring just round the corner and don't rush to the scene, then Garrett uses this as a stepping stone to gain access to the flat bit and so on and so forth etcetera etcetera
Was I the only one who lost the will to live at that point ?
WTF happened to the stealth ?
-- EDIT --
Oh yeah and retrievable re usable rope arrows rather than use once and burn types please
-- EDIT --
And another point on arrows in general, they shatter or break when they hit the target so they can't be re used, this is for stealth so the AI don't become alerted by suspicious arrows littering the arena ... they don't seem to become suspicious at much else so why arrows should arouse them I've no idea.
OK they shatter on impact with the target and are seen no more.
So in the "BOOOM!!!! HEADSHOT!!! 50XP AND SECOND BASE WITH VIKTORIA - Garrett pockets his reward for killing then and goes and shoulders the now deceased AI out of the way" sequence.
That sequence.
What exactly is that thing sticking out of the deceased AI's head that nearly takes Garretts good eye out as he's shouldering the body to a dark spot ?
Did the AI have a congenital deformity ?
Or is it an arrow, manifestly not having shattered on impacting the target, OK the body is suspicious enough but the arrow is plainly visible.
If arrows shatters on impact so they can't be reused then why show us arrows sticking out of bodies.
Would it be because arrows sticking out of bodies is somehow kewl ?

I think I am in love with you right now.
