I'm now teetering towards thinking of saving up for a pc upgrade. But I don't see how I can make any kind of decision until I've seen a pc gameplay version or at least a version with everything turned off.

Seems like we're split here.
I'll definitely be picking it up somewhere between day one and -75% on Steam. Let's see how it turns out.

Well, yeah, it's a wait for the review deal. But it ALWAYS is. Pre-ordering is for chumps.

I trust game reviews about as far as I can comfortably spit out a rat.
Unless someone like Yahtzee says it's not terrible or someone like Totalbiscuit says it's good, I'm not going to even bother taking a look.

In general I agree with you, but pre-ordering Dishonored for Arx Fatalis and Bioshock Infinite for XCOM were both damn fine deals in my eyes.

If you're on a tight budget, a PS4 ($400) is probably going to be the most efficient way to be able to play it. They're also considering releasing on PS3/360 atm as well.

Based on the videos I saw, I won't buy it.
To buy this game implies to upgrade my computer in order to play it, and I don't think it's worthy enough for me to spend so much money. And no console for me. Even though it pretends to be a Thief game, nothing appeals to me in the videos, so why would I bother, I'm busy enough on other projects...
I'll watch walkthrough and let's play videos out of curiosity, keep an eye on reviews and feedbacks here and there, and according to these I might buy it years later during a steam sale.

I don't have any value for reviews, particularly because no critics have ever reflected my taste in games, but also because Eidos has paid for favorable reviews in the past. I'm rather baffled how anyone can take reviews seriously these days. The game play of Thief 4 looks to be pretty terrible too, maintaining nothing of what I'd want from a Thief game. If anything I'm wondering how they could make this worse, and look forward to seeing more footage pop up and about.
I might actually demo it myself, just to see what they dropped the ball on.

When did Eidos pay for favorable reviews?
And what are your favorite three games?
