Even if I hadn't read anything else about T4 to date, hadn't watched any of the T4 videos released to date, this article would've put me off buying the game. All I can do at this point is shake my head and walk away. As I said before; I won't have to buy T4 since I've already played Tomb Raider Reboot.

Thanks Dia, I had not read this article. It really seems like that they are trying to please every single player type. It seems like they are just cramming in stuff to appeal to the broadest of audiences and not in a good way. I mean, I like steak and I like ice cream but I don't want to eat a steak with ice cream on top. Oh well.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to please everyone, so why they are trying to do something like that? Why not making a game for old fanbase, which is broad audience enough??

MAYBE if there are a bunch of official and fan patches/maps to make it more like the originals.

If we are lucky, extremely lucky, we won't end up with a RPG shooter like DOOM in new clothing. The video had everything wrong with it that put me off most Video games of the era.
Calling the 'hero' Garrett, and using a city scape similar to THE CITY, does not make it thief! At best, I saw a very badly done Parody of the game. T2X was a far superior thief game than I fear this one will be, even without Garrett and Russel!

They clearly gambled on the option that the new fanbase is larger than the older one. I don't say I like it, but I am afraid that, from the commercial point of view, it was the right option for them.

Interesting. The EM Mods are all excited about NuThief. Who knew? Frankly, I'm surprised that the poll was allowed in the first place, especially considering the majority of votes seems to be in the negative.

15 positive vs. 16 negative at Eidos, against 32 positive vs. 34 negative here. It seems the overall distribution of opinion is exactly the same. Basically 50/50 either way.
Oh, I guess I should vote positive now. Knowing it will come out on current gen consoles makes me pretty confident I'll have a computer that can play thief when it's released.
