setting off alarms didn't bother me early game, since all that comes at you is pole hybrids (or monkeys depending on ldifficulty, i think), who are easy to melee (jousting & circle strafing) and are an easy source of early nanites and sometimes hypos
just back yourself into a corner and start smacking stuff till the timer runs out, i say!
later on, yeah, you've got a reason to get to hacking and shooting cameras... but by then you have the skills and resources
reloading a game because you made a (non-game-crippling) mistake pretty much ruins the atmosphere - and ss2 is all about atmosphere... if you're gonna reload every time you set off an alarm or take damage, then you may as well play with god mode on

still trucking through the game made it to the engineering deck, its pretty fun beating stuff up with my wrench lol, still not really spooked though. I think the game is still very well made and love the attention to detail(computer controlled pictures frames in the crew quarters and stuff like that). Tried out the rebirth mod but i think im going to take it off since the midwives look better without it on. I also have a feeling that the woman who has been giving me orders is going to screw me over in someway

For me it was the 'Why do you move so slowly? Do you think that this is a game....' thing is Hydro that really did it for me. It seemed so.... egotistical, seemed to really jar against the rest of her. I thought to myself 'Hoo boy... ' :weird:

With the log in Hydro, I didn't noticed it, i didn't read the box the game came in, I didn't even know SHODAN existed, I was sooooo happy to finally reach deck 4, only to waste all my ammo shotting the pictures of SHODAN, then I got depressed for about a week because I still hadn't finished the game.
