And don't forget that it matters when and in what mood you play SS2. You can control it if the game scares you or not, it's a matter of picking the right time to play. I for one play scary games during the night, it helps if I'm the only one in the house.

Yeah I shouldn't be reloading if i set off an alarm, I still don't think this game can ever frighten me I think I might just be too spoiled by next gen graphics, hopefully bioshock will make me piss my pants lol, I'm still giving it a run through since it's a good game regardless

It will get much nastier than MedSci, trust me.
But scarier? Depends on if you got balls or not. ;)

It sounds to me like you're just too spoiled by compulsive reloading behavior. Knock it off, you big baby. And try actually listening to all the logs you find. SS2 isn't scary because of its graphics, it's scary because of its story.

Kefren, you got it in my opinion. Going into it naïve and playing without obsessive reloading is certainly the best experience.
If you really need a savegame, you want it to work though. So make sure your (

I see nothing wrong with reloading if you make a pretty major screw-up, considering it is pretty easy for beginners to totally fuck up the entire progress.

Agreed.
I typically do a perma-save at every "major" cybermodule investment point. Just in case my choices were a big screwup; or I want to experiment with different choices.
You can gimp yourself in the long run in SS2 if you make the wrong choices (not knowing they are bad choices at the time).

Yeah, that's something no-one else has touched upopn-for your weapon choices, SPECIALISE. If you don't, it *will* come back to haunt you.

Yea i know you can do that but if the alarm goes off regardless it seems like its just better to reload if the game has been saved recently.
If you do set off an alarm, all you need to do, is run to the nearest security console, activate it (don't need to hack it), and the alarm turns off. If you can hack it, then you can stop alarms from even going off in the first place. Whenever I did set an alarm off (which was rarely thanks to my always charged, always in good nick laser pistol), I could always find a security console nearby.

And a small tip; higher CYB stat increases the security down-time after hacking a security computer.
