i was wondering if anyone ever though about remaking any of the levels of thief 3 in thief 2 new dark, excluding hub area
i do know i tryed a cradle level layout but no objective's/npc's/loot/etc
but i feel some of the thief 3 missions could be redone in thief 2 new dark and be way better
climbing gloves were such a fail as i barely seen places to use them in any meaningful way
thief 3 Pavelock Prison level was so small for a level, i am shocked people don't do speed runs of it
the Abysmal Gale ship level was way to small for a level
those rust mites did not add to anything but a collect type quest, don't even remember what you get when you kill them all
would love to see a remake of The Sunken Citadel with way more to do
House of the Widow Moira was a ok mission but i am burnt out on house missions
remake of Killing Time= destroying the clock was enjoyable from what i remember
and would love to see last 2 missions made into one where you enter gamals lair and get the items then have to escape and activate the markers
also i found out why garretts hips are so bad in thief 3, if you all remember garrett is a piece of tofu and when they put garrett into the thief 3 model he only went down to the waist area making hips and below like a different person, if i had to guess they used burrick legs on garrett in thief 3 and if you see a burrick turn its the same way garrett in thief 3 turns = like a lumbering ox
first mission wasn't really even a mission, second mission was nothing special except for the blood opal
mission 3 and 4 were more introduction to hammers and pagans, but not a lot to do, would be cool to see them with more objectives
mission 8 Of Brethren... And Betrayers, being able to kill orlan as it will not affect the storyline and i cant stand his accusation of garrett
as far as the cradle great mission but i felt like i needed a bit more room to move around in those tight hallways with caged guys
so much of thief 3 can be made better in thief 2 newdark, the movement alone would make the levels better and if more objectives were added/etc
thief 3 gold??? on thief 2 newdark
ohh and also would it be possible be sure to add dewdrop and the golden child into thief 3 fan missions made in thief 2 new dark

rip all those fan mission authors we lost you are never forgotten bbb, lady rowena, naks, freddyfox, lady jo and Zaccheus, you are all missed so much and i know you are all making fan missions for us all when we make it to the master builder and i cant wait to play them all
also random fact i never once in my entire time playing thief have i dropped a "healing fruit" after picking one up

also another idea for a contest i keep thinking about is a prequal to thief 1 fan mission or a post thief 3 fan mission contest, where the person can either make a prequal to thief 1 fan mission or a post thief 3 fan mission, or both in one shop, via time travel/etc

I had the same thoughts, but I have no DromEd experience whatsoever, completely clueless.
Some of the areas in the keeper compound in a recent FM, A Thief's Training, remind me of the Brethren and Betrayers compound (the octagonal area with the chair in the middle is very much the same as in the aforementioned TDS mission). The music is the same, so it helped to immerse a lot.
I wouldn't alter the TDS story if it were to be adapted. It's fine as it is. I would be more open to expanding the hub level in such an adaptation, tho.

i agree about not altering story but more objectives is what is needed per level
if done in newdark t2, the game play would be so fast compared to thief 3 = garretts crippled burrick hips, the game would be over to fast for the work put into it, hence more objective, hub was already made in t2 newdark , with no loading zone and cradle map, with no loading zone
and please add burricks into missions i miss them a lot

There is one "mission" that ported several TDS maps to Thief 2: (

It's basically a sandbox with AIs, loot and everything but no real objectives (as far as I can remember).
But it did a great job of capturing the aesthetics of TDS (...and it's got rope arrows and swim-able water :cheeky:).

yes intruder i played them all, very nice hub and some levels were made from it, very well done
i was more thinking of the missions themselves, merlock level, clocktower level/etc, not the hub stuff
also i did try that thief 3 fan mission on my old comp and i was completely lost and with garretts movement made the mission not fun for me
i always been a fan of thief 1/g/2 when it comes to fan missions, never really liked tds or the quake reskin missions
