I have been loving these fellows for a quite long time and when
Novo Atlantis was released last year, I instantly bought it. Last night I had the chance to see them live, which was quite frankly one of the best gigs I have ever seen (danced myself silly) and reminding me of how awesome they are. It also brought it to my mind that you guys might like it. because you play computer games and they are very "c-64 synths" hurrdurr
Aavikko makes electronic music in the vein of Kraftwerk with 2x the tempo, fun and swell melodies. They have an eastern european take on music and their image. They're pretty much like a retro-futuristic USSR march band. Their newest release Novo Atlantis is their best record to date (albeit their best "hits" might be from earlier releases), which explores a surprisingly wide array of musical styles (Dies Irae Discodelico is nothing more than gregorian monk electro).

Love it. A pretty awkward way to put it, but it sounds to me like a melting pot of all the song parts from other modern electro bands which feel 'retro'.

Yeah, I feel that when other modern bands just hardly flirt with retro, these guys are retro. Their older material feels more "amateur" in a sense, but it has upped retro-aspect to it (and more funk!).

This one has pretty much the best synths ever.

I listened to the Novo Atlantis album while playing the Just Cause 2 demo, but I'm starting to think I shoulda listened to it while playing Shattered Horizon instead. It's pretty spaced out. Man.
The last track was my fave.
