Snow happened. Server had a problem, apparently, and the staff couldn't get into work to fix it.

Snow? They should have sent an army or something to fix the servers, it was an emergency! I lost count of how many times I clicked the little TTLG icon in my browser bookmarks, only to realise two seconds later that the site is still down. Thankfully I had much better things to do on Saturday than to worry about any server problems, but it's good to have you all back now. :D

Yup - an issue with updates stopped the server starting properly. Would normally have been resolved quickly but the fact it happened at a weekend and the support staff were snowed out due to the bad weather didn't help.
There is some planned maintenance that is due to occur on the 26th or 27th so if the server goes down for a short time again then don't panic :)

I spent the weekend wondering whether it was the mod teams' enormous dongs which capsized the server.
