I should probably start a separate thread, but Madelaine L'Engle died last week as well. I wasn't a huge fan, but I did cut my teeth on 'A Wrinkle in Time' - it's one of the classics.
Also Stitch - Ace thread title. :thumb:

I think A Feast for Crows may have finished the series for me.
Sure, it pretty much knocked A Song of Ice and Fire of its pedestal for me, but I'll continue to read out of completism and since there's still some decent plotlines and writing left in it. If it so happens that
Dance of Dragons kills what remaining interest I have, then I can quite happily forget all about it.

Godammit it GRRM nerds go start your own thread this is for Robert Jordan nerds.
[edit]I know there's a lot of "lol went on forever" but I still greatly enjoyed WoT. And now I'm denied a conclusion!

Oh Cripes! I love Jordan's stuff, so I bought every WOT book as they came out, but haven't started reading ANY because once I start a series, I prefer to finish it from beginning to end. I was waiting for the last to be released before starting the first in the series. ....NOW WHAT TO DO??!!

Luckily fans aren't denied a conclusion. He'd outlined, written and verbally, the entire series to his wife and brother shortly before this in anticipation of the end. They've already announced that they're going to have the thing finished in his memory.
Still really sucks that he's died, though. I was looking forward to anything he'd write after he finished WoT... :erg:
