Has turn out to be lots easier than I had ever expected (my previous character was a mail. Both of them.)
First of all, the difficulty level by default was set to min. That I corrected and it wasn't a problem. However, I have noticed that fighting hasn't become harder than it would have been was I a man. Playing at expert level has become possible for me, and it was absolutely impossible with my previous mail characters. I think it is rather unfair that all the ingame world with it's creatures and monsters, amd men, loses it's power and skills in ladies' favour :p I expected, on the contrary, that existing would be much harder for a female here, especially as tender and vulnerable as a high elf.
Would be nice to hear people who had an experience in comparing both sex, though I am almost sure this thread will turn into something ugly in the end :cheeky:

Did you consider that perhaps you just got better as you played more? ;)

Not that much, Matthew.
But thanks, friend :)

Females are just different not weaker, every race's beginning stats (before class) add up to 320, including dremoras, females are some combination of more intelligent, more willful, better personality, while men are stronger, have higher endurance or more agility and speed can go either way. In the case of an altmer, a female trades 10 endurance for 10 speed. In general women make better mages while men make better fighters but it depends on the race.
Women can raise in the legions just as well as men can, the only thing they seem to be excluded from is the buerocracy, because their higher intelligence and way with words make the men feel insecure.
Since females altmer are about the same in combat then I'll have to assume that your just more comfortable as a woman.

May be...
It's like everything remained the same, but I feel... lighter which helps me feel more comfortable in combat, I guess. :)

Well you are faster, so you will move faster, attack quicker and jump further, or maybe your just feel more supported with a bra and no dangly thing knocking about your legs:p

Not much to support. Designing a character hadn't gone beyond face modelling :(

I doubt that the NPCs react differently to your character based on the gender. They react to your personality, your speechcraft and your fame/infamy, but it would be silly to have them retreat from fights "because they won't hit a girl".
The only difference is of course the Siren's Deception quest: female characters are asked to join the gang, males are probably invited as a guest to the red curtained little house.
And a difference is of course that people refer to the player as a she instead of a he. "Greetings, bosmer sister" probably just becomes a "Greetings, bosmer brother."
I haven't played as a male character, and I can't imagine that I would start one at all - why would I bother playing a male if I can play a female instead?
But the "lightness" you experience is definitely the speed factor, I'd say. Or an armor or encumberance factor: mine was crawling around slowly while I was working on my endurance and thus wearing some heavy armor set, and now that this is over she runs around at extreme speed in comparison (and the speed isn't even at 100 yet.) Ebony armor slowed her down even more than simple dwarven armor, so maybe the higher end light armors slow the character down a bit more than the starter light armors as well.

I'm not sure if it was true or not, but I think I read somewhere that if you have, like, 100 endurance and 100 heavy armour, that your heavy armours don't weigh anything when they're equipped

An Expert's equipped heavy armor only encumbers him by 50%. (Skill 75-99)
A Master's equipped heavy armor does not encumber him at all. (Skill 100)
