This is a goddamn discussion forum. Posting interesting links, stories, news items, and whatthefuckever is a hallmark of a discussion forum as it
gives us something to discuss.

Am I the only one who has lately been colossally bored with this place? It seems like interesting topics are few and far between and yet new threads are shouted down with "GET OUT" or "WELCOME TO LAST WEEK." Yeah, we don't want this place to turn into leftovers from Fark and Livejournal, but do we really want a forum where everyone is too cool and jaded to post anything? I love the caustic atmosphere around here but I've found myself creeping in other forums because--get this--<I>people actually post in them</i>.
I know my slate ain't clean--I was part of the group that ended kfgecko's reign of monotony, after all--but surely there's some territory we can stake out between "GET OUT" and "here's yet another dull thought that drifted into my brain."

I scapegoated the thread with a wider comment.
You say Scots had something to say, and that's fair enough. This wasn't the best thread for my little diatribe. But my little diatribe also had something to say. So I posted it.
And I hope we all keep posting, as you suggest.
I don't see what the problem with a healthy discussion is. It's not like I even made it particularly personal, unlike Scots running in with his LOL HOW CAN I GET BACK AT FINGERNAIL.
Anyway, that's the last you'll hear from me on this.

Comment about Fingernail's prenatal development aside, my tirade coudn't possibly be less personal. I actually quite like each and every person I consider to be part of the problem, including Fingy. I've got no beef with any of them, I simply want the shouting down saved for situations when it's truly appropriate, like Vincent_21 threads.
